typically you want to switch jobs every couple years to get a salary bump

truthfully this could be the best thing that has every happened to her

granted it sucks in the moment but her resume will speak for itself

life is complicating at times gotta look at the future and not what's going on right at the moment

I’m not gonna go into the problems my family had but my mom basically raised me as a single parent. She gave me a good neighborhood, good birthdays and Christmas’s etc..

Her job was always good for vacations and letting her come in early to leave early when I played sports as a kid.

Overall it was a pretty good job considering she’s been working from home since 01.

Bad management will do that to a job. Even in my own experiences, management always takes managements side

OP I would recommend your mom look into the legality of her termination because it sounds like a crock. Wishing you, your mom, and your fam the best. F*** that other b****

Straight up crock. You can't factor missed time due to medical issues in performance

  • BIGGWAVE

    i used to do that
u gettin regular work or just freelance s***?
s*** got irregular for me had to switch to ecommerce

I've got some employees and spend all my time looking for clients for the most part, aside from quality assurance

Loyalty went out the door when companies stopped offering pensions and matching 401k contributions

I highly doubt it. It was 2013-15. She had I think 4 surgeries in 3 years + a small car accident.

This was basically what another poster said. She rocked the boat and they decided it was time for her to leave sadly.

So in two years of employment her boss has lost over 125 years worth of exp between 5 people, but my mom was the one the company decided would be better to let go.

    Stupid stuff man

TLDR: Never complain about management TO MANAGEMENT.

Sorry for the rant but I needed to type this out to make me feel better

Fam I’m devastated beyond words rn.

2 years ago my mom got this new manager who was a straight b****. She would belittle people over phone conferences, send nasty emails, and beg people to work OT.

My mom been on the same “team” at her job since it was created back in 03-04. She’s never gotten a low performance grade on any quarterly report or anything like that.

A few years ago she had a lot of health problems and missed a lot of time but her old boss stuck out her neck to keep my mom because of how good she was for the company and her team. These health issues still bother her today, and she’s pretty weak physically. So her job was perfect, computer + work from home. She can’t walk long distances nor commute daily.

My mom was even on f***ing vacation this week. Her boss called and basically said that the company reviewed all the teams and reviewed everyone individually by metrics and decided my mom should go. Btw my mom has been training other members on her team to improve THEIR metrics.

My mom and some other girl tried to talk to her boss about her attitude and professionalism, they tried to talk to her bosses boss, and even HR. So instead they just decided to remove my mom. Her boss
told her that if she contacts anyone in the company she would forfeit her severance (1 year pay).

This is major loss for my family because my mom was the most consistent person in my family man. Sucks cause I’m in another country and I can’t even be by her side.

My pops flew for the countries national airlines for 40 years, on his last day, they shook his hand, thanked him for his service and invited the next pilot in. He always told me, you're just a number.

Hope your mom goes at them with full force, management never want the employee to escalate.
