    The only guys with a distinct sound rn is wheezy and Jetson in the mainstream, everyone else is copying those dudes

    wheezy is pretty generic too a lot of his beats sound like southside/808 mafia

    The drums on I Told You are pretty cool imo. A lot of the drums on the project sound like they were done live. Also a lot quieter compared to what we have currently

  • They way people approach the beats is worse than the beats themselves. I was just thinking how good uzi woulda sounded if he approached the WOD beats like bladee or Yung lean rather than just rapping w tired flows.

    His live streams have some of his best beats it's usually the more generic ones that get placed

    listen to the one at 2:54, it sounds a lot different to what he usually does

    Battery 4 has some really cool kits. When I’m tired of trap drums and trying to switch it up I use that. Also trap drums are changing. Like pierre 808s are the norm now but before it was always sub bass with a hard kick

    I have battery but never use it lmao. I was so excited to get it to at the time but yeah I prolly only loaded it up maybe once?

    That’s what I think sounds the best. It ultimately comes down to programming/sequencing/mixing properly for drums to sound good but that sound is hard to f*** up

    Know of any sound packs that replicate live drums decently well?

    You should check it out again. Lots of unique kits. Tyler used the Pete Davis kit in November

    You gotta have instrumentals you can rap over and most artist can’t rap over different beats anymore
