damnnnn fr? thats one of my most played albums from him tbh
I’ve heard some Neil songs here and there but never tried to give the albums a listen. Gonna spin Harvest and see what’s what.
to steal Elrics whole s*** honestly chrono would b great, just hit those repeat listens where it hits you the hardest. if not start with everywhere is nowhere and f*** around with the 70 s*** and go wild from there tbh

songwriting never hit that especially hard for me and ngl im not the biggest fan of the female backing vocals
i still like all the songs though except motorcycle mama
Man that would be dope to see though lol. I love watching people just jam out like that
I LOVED IT i was rocking with him
IN FACT bowie said this about watching neil improvising long jams with crazy horse when he saw them live in 1996:
They began to dance, turning around, like in a tribal circle, very slowly. And it seemed to me that they were doing that to catch back their dreams, to find youth again, to not allow the energy to escape…”Dead Man Walking” is a sort of homage to rock and roll that is still young while we are all growing old.
There was a sense of grace and dignity about what they were doing, and also an incredible verve and energy. It was very moving, watching them work under the moon
they were playing together at neil young’s bridge school benefit a charity neil put together in 1986 with his wife to which partial proceeds benefited the bridge school, which assists children with severe physical impairments and complex communication needs as neil young’ son ben young heavily suffers from.
one of the thrusts of the program is the use of advanced augmentative and alternative communication and assistive technology.
the show still goes today
that performance that night inspired bowie the song dead man walking
in fact dead man walkings second verse is bowie’s dream memory of that night, a realization that he, too, had become a crazy old man dancing under the moon:
Three old men dancing under the lamplight
Shaking their s***and their bones
And the boys that we were ...
love how it works so well in both the acoustic and electric forms
yeh i can’t even pick lol
