Lol okay bro so if you acknowledge he’s an “idiot” what you jumping on me for when I was responding to his “you can literally learn more from Kendrick than college” lmaoooo

He said literally so I took it literal like bro if this your first time learning about MLK speech you need to read a book

That doesn’t knock Kendrick’s creativity or even teaching his lyrics in a creative writing class.

Maybe he should of specified instead of just saying college as a whole lol

Im not attacking you at all brother Im just trying to converse lol

like I said dude is an idiot lol

it just feels like you dismiss the importance of the conversation kendrick’s trying to have here when you say stuff like “when it comes to creativity”.

Like it’s more than being creative when it comes to this imo. One of my favorite movies of all time is The House that Jack Built and that also acts as a study on the meaning of art and its relationship to the consumer.

Bro what am I dismissing ? The conversation was based on an idiotic comment dude made and you got at me for disputing it. All I was doing was disputing his “you can learn more from Kendrick than college” s***. That’s it.

I was talking more about ur tone itt so far

Like earlier when I said it’s nuts to me how kendrick can take such a broad topic and make you feel like you come out of it learning something, you quoted me saying you didn’t learn anything new and that nas invented it lol. came off as dismissal to me that’s why I wrote that up, if we disagree that’s fine

  • Aug 19, 2020

Trust me tho the kendrick nuthuggers make me sick too sometimes. But I wanna give him his flowers while he’s still here cause this leak reminded me how much he means to me

Bro what are u on about lol

He spoke on the idea of art being a separate entity than the artist in a more poignant way than I’ve ever heard another rapper address it. Framing art as a human being and speaking directly from its perspective as if it’s a living breathing person is brilliant because it makes you see it in a different light, relate to it on a human level, and truly feel guilty for slandering it or delegitimizing it based on the actions of its creator. It would be like coming at somebody and s***ting on them for terrible things that their parents did.
He didn’t just do it to be creative, it is actually a crazy effective way to express his idea behind the relationship of art to artist. And the way he had a direct conversation with the consumers in the 3rd verse was fantastic

I don’t understand why you being pretentious about it, that was a pretty eye opening set of verses

He’s not literally teaching you s*** but my fav thing about kendrick is when he gives me new perspectives on topics like that

    Great post
You can hear that he's worried that one day people will do the same to his art because deep down he knows that he's not a perfect human and he made mistakes too

Well that’s you reading too deep into it cus there wasn’t a tone. If anything it was on me for taken it too literal that’s why I said “man the song fire and creative but I didn’t learn anything new”

I meant that literally cus I already knew of MJ’s history and the importance of separating art from the human even tho it doesn’t happen. And also the history of MLK.

It’s not dismissing the song being fire that’s why I said it is. It was me just being literal to your “man I feel like I came out of this learning something”......like knowledge wise what did you actually learn.

And the Nas comment wasn’t dismissive either. Kendrick is a fan of Nas. Nas influenced a creative way to do storytelling and rapping from something else’s perspective. This song is the same formula as “I gave you power” done in Kendrick’s own creative way.

Love Nas but he didn't invent rapping from different perspectives
Plus Organized Konfusion did a similar concept to I Gave You Power on Stray Bullet before him

Organized konfusion rapped from a guns perspective before Nas?
