Did you get to go inside or just see it? Might have to put that on my list when i go there
man I got to go inside and do the full tour and spend the afternoon going into the evening as the sun was going down. so got to see it in the light as well as dark. special vibe.
I use this app/site called 'meetup' - below is a link to the person/team that does a bunch of LA architecture tours including stahl house. they get access to a bunch of other private stuff similar to the stahl house too.
highly recommend.
Yessir i started watching these early this week theyre so fire. You can tell the owners really loved the work they put in and how it came out

Soon come king. Everyone says they wish until they get it and you strike me as someone who gets at it. Much luck to you
Life goal is to buy an Eichler home.
Heard about him the other day when reading about Frank Lloyd Wright. Might do some old spotlights
If anyone's interested I just hosted a talk on making architectural (and planning) education more inclusive for students of color. Send me a message if you want I can send the link for the recording when its up.
Definitely shoot me the link when you can

Btw not to sidetrack - but just wanted to post some content... Tadao Ando is worth being a topic or part of larger post. I visited Japan a year ago and tadaos architecture, it jumps out to you - I didn’t even know who or what it was till afterwards cause I was basically just walking around Kyoto with a friend and came upon a bunch of buildings that I later learned were tadao designed. Ye is super into him too and a lot of ye’s designs / exteriors are based on same principles.
Japan overall shaped a lot of opinion on architecture / design - ryokan’s and minimalism especially.
@7Dots you decide on where you're gonna archive the mad men post/old posts you rotate out of OP?

I have it saved in a google doc, i might just do a locked thread where I put old posts.
love the new OP on plants. definitely need to incorporate more of those when I move to a spot with more sunlight
