Interesting thoughts. Ive only watched the SNL performance once and it was the middle of the nigth when I was half asleep so my thoughts are pretty limited but from what I can recall it wasnt anything exciting to me. Felt very Phil Collins-ey lol/Angels (from BBTM).
But if indeed the live performance isnt the full version and CDQ will be different then thats promising although I dont think the final CDQ is going to be massively different to what he performed.
"I want you by my side..... i want you to feel my vibe ...... i want you to hold on tight." sounds like some 80's Prince s*** tbh
Those lyrics don't even remotely resemble anything Prince ever wrote. Reminds me more of some of the faceless Prince knockoffs like Ready For The World or Shalamar or some s***.
Dude’s become a really solid live performer, as a debut for a new song this is miles ahead from the belong to the world debut at the mod club in 2013

bland, vaguely upbeat pop for middle aged white people who only listen to adult contemporary radio
After Hours still

Most of the time I prefer the studio version over his live performances, but Blinding Lights live is always hype af. I love its second verse with the absence of the drums in the beginning just to come back in later and his additional vocal runs.

same. i think Blinding Lights should have been recorded in a higher register and have that slow second verse as in the live version
but then again, it was likely recorded just after the asia tour and he had vocal problems then
