Yeah op didn’t do the best job at explaining those parallels. Like KELYE said most of that stuff can but attributed to pandering.

hoopsplayer21and another question i have: I've had discussions with friends about how the tearing down of statues is "erasing history" and is exactly what Orwell warned... my counterpoint is simple: who learns history through f***ing statues? i've never saw a statue and was like wow cool statue i want to learn more about this guy. I was taught history in school, and until they start erasing/revising history they teach at a young level (they do already to some level which is slightly alarming) i don't see how the tearing down of statues is something inherently wrong.
