how far in did you get?

the pacing in CC is impeccable. the whole series was screened as a film in the cinema without any credits beside opening and closing and it was hard to tell when a new ep had started. short n sweet.

TOTDY drags a bit more and the lack of dialogue makes it even feel a bit longer but once you pass through episode 1 and 2 you're good

Multiple rewatches proved me otherwise. Every time i see another person say this i just go WHAT

TOTDY dialogue had more pauses and felt more stretched out but there was always more happening than in CC. And episode 2 which used to feel like NWR trolling on my first watch now lowkey houses some of my favorite moments he has ever done in his career

I guess i just really prefer the TOTDY characters, locations, and plot points over anything he has ever done

CC still amazing but TOTDY is the clear champion for me. That should have been 100 episodes and i woulda ate it up. The world he created was much more diverse there

tbfh it's different with rewatches and that goes for anything. any film that I rewatch feels really short or much shorter than on the initial watch.
this is an actual phenomena and i'm not totally sure what goes on in the brain.

if you wanna keep it fair, you'll have to compare first watch with first watch.

and yeah im not gonna argue if you like CC or TOTDY more, that's just preference and the world in TOTDY with its characters (i love ep2) is indeed a little cooler but i'll give the nod to CC personally

I feel like CC tried to do a LOT of those sequences with the camera moving around to show minor changes. Sometimes NWR gave it another spin like with the family and the 360 shot

I appreciated it because i think he does that really well. But in TOTDY i felt like everything was just so much more diverse

So a lot of the preference comes down to if you prefer him to do one thing, with a shorter runtime really well and focused. Or if you prefer for him to try a lot more things, where some things might work out amazing and some might work out less (which wasnt the case for me btw, but i can understand if people feel that way)

Bruh just give TOTDY another try it's clearly his magnum opus and i'm not sure if he will ever top it

The vibes are immaculate and his characters never were more interesting

And TOTDY actually gives you some sense of closure and catharsis while leaving enough open
