Report back, seeing this tomorrow
Yeah this was great. The POV camerawork and scenes moving in and out so fast can feel a little disjointed at first. But the ending brought it all together. Damn
Super spoilers:
when it was slowly revealed that the guy we see from behind in the future was ‘Elwood’, I was like ‘is that daveed diggs? Sounds just like him, and that is such a bad choice for an older version. Completely different look and sound to his voice’
and then when it was revealed what actually went down…
Yeah that s*** was insane. I had no idea

When they switched to showing Young Turners POV from behind I said wait!! That’s just like future “Elwood’s” POV. And now I’m starting to think they did it from behind to represent the Ghost of Elwood’s POV, like he’s living on through Turner and right there with him. When they first showed future “Elwood” I was coming up with ghost theories cus of the POV changing but didn’t know how it would connect

Great to hear! Can’t wait

Yeah I’m hoping you f*** wit it. We need more black creatives telling stories in a creative way even though it touches on familiar territory

Most definitely
Of course Soderbergh has a full first person pov movie. I swear he just be getting bored sometimes
But he does have some classics
The first one was made almost 80 years ago
Sooo who was daveed diggs character exactly? Adult turner or his son named Elwood? Seemed like it said 2018, but then he was talking about 68, then I saw some grey in the dreads to imply age, but I was confused. If he was at nickel in 68 he'd be old as f\*\*\*. Then the credits say "old Elwood", idk

Hes turner. He survived, grew his hair and changed his name to Elwood. EDIT: Wait am I remembering wrong? He had a son and named him Elwood? EDIT AGAIN: Nah gang it’s Turner cus remember when he ran into Skinny Pete at the Bar and he asked “aye what happen to oh boy you chilled wit at Nickels?”
Then go see it, only person stopping you is 🫵🏽
I’m waiting for it to come to amc I think it’s only at regal right now

Swear over here, it's switched. Amc/the indie joints get the indie films first, then they trickle to regal

who was skinny Pete? Even when they showed "young him" at the bar when he was leaving he didn't really look familiar to me. And he was on a computer on google looking s\*\*\* up around this time? That doesn't make sense to me. 68, to leading a moving company/being on the Internet felt like it doesn't make sense, I just figured he named his son "Elwood Jr" or something of that nature
