The ban only happened because the president got his account suspended and then was on some if I can't have it then no one can s*** also add the factor that they're basically censoring calling out the Gov't and protests being organized

They’re actually aggressive towards everyone. The biggest victims of their crimes are farmers in the north and middle belt. The violence in the south has a special highlight because it’s seen as more shocking.

Generally the violence stems from the fact that the herders feel entitled to land because of the increasing desertification of their previous grazing areas. They also feel emboldened by the fact that their comprise most of the nobility of the north as well as a disproportionate amount of power in the federal government

Yeah that too a lot of the Fulani people feel like they own the country because they have a huge presence in the government. It’s like how some white people think they own America because most of the government and politicians are also white.

Well what does he have to be scared of? Nigeria’s government has already shown that it isn’t scared to kill its own people. If people even protest against him they just get shot.

The worst part is they aren’t even the majority. It’s not close either, there’s more Hausas than them but because of the jihads most emirs/high ranking people are Fulani in the north

Nah it was never really class lessons itself it was major papers where i had to choose the topic. For senior year in HS I did a massive thing on the civil war and then for college i did a thesis on democracy in Africa (I did politics/international relations). Still had to independently search a lot of it I just had a bigger incentive to.

    Still lots to learn tho

I think you should be. If Nigeria ceased to exist it would only be after a bloody civil war that would probably kill millions of people. Honestly even with how f***ed up it is I want Nigeria to continue existing. I don’t want to have to watch my family go through Syria 2.0 .

I haven’t seen it all yet but there was this very good YouTube doc (it’s like 2.5 hours) that goes through a large chunk of history

If there had to be a war to split it up then yeah, it should be avoided at all costs even if it means remaining like this

But I no longer believe that the west and east need each other or the north. A lot of the most successful countries in the world don’t have to deal with the same ethnic tensions that have been plaguing this country for decades so maybe a peaceful split would be the best option we have

  • Twitter should ban Nigerian indefinitely

Yeah I agree but still there’s almost never a peaceful split within the context of history. Every time a country splits up there is war. Like if we split up how do we determine who gets what land? And who will decide that? The government that is already not trusted and known to be corrupt and unfair? Or the United Nations, who have a terrible track record?

The only fair way to decide that would be by fighting and letting the winner take whatever he wants.

That’s not what I said this is a total strawman. I’m saying that the average American’s problems are a joke compared to the problems of the average Nigerian. I don’t know why people get so defensive over this. I’m literally saying that you’re blessed to be in such a prosperous country and you’re arguing with me.

It’s hilarious bro you can tell they have never been outside of the Western World. I’m literally telling them how easy it is here because I’ve lived in Nigeria and America and they’re telling me I’m wrong.

Ask any veteran who has been to Afghanistan or Iraq and they will tell you the exact same thing. Being born in this country is a f***ing blessing from God.

big facts. uber drivers from other countries tell me this all the time

always talking about how living in america is the dream and only because americans are so spoiled they dont realize how lucky they truly are

then you got bozos itt who just laugh at the idea that the usa could possibly be looked at as anything other than negatively. wild

  • mctate

anybody even remotely inferring we have it good in america gets s*** on

    its hilarious

S*** is so stupid too. These clowns have no idea about the world and f***ed up a lot of pets of it is.

They have all the freedoms that people in 3rd world countries die to have and sit around on their ass and do nothing with it and complain and s*** on the country.

Ask them to swap with anyone from Western Africa and watch it be crickets tho. Straight up clown s***.

Not just ktt dudes either, this applies to all the anti America idiots.

That’s why I’m so patriotic sometimes. This country isn’t perfect but it has protected me from so many things that my family in the continent have to deal with. That’s part of why I joined the Army I feel like I partially owe this country my life, even with all the s*** it puts me through.
