It’s funny as satire ngl
I wish the lyrical content reflected it more
i really wish more white rappers went the since99 route and ironically rapped like a suburban white boy
There should be a place for both the Chief Keefs and Nas’ in the grand scheme of hip hop
The problem is the kids nowadays could give a f*** about the Nas’ of today
Or maybe there just aren’t any Nas’ of today
Carti and Uzi are more responsible for the absolute decay of lyricism than keef imo

Kendrick is literally receiving more praise now than at any point in his career

One of the issues I have with Ian is that he aesthetically plays the role of that suburban white boy while his music sounds nothing like it, almost as if he’s playing into that “haha look at me im actually just a suburban dude” which comes off very tone deaf
Or maybe it’s just my own biases coming into play

Keef helped birth them
When yall let s***ty rappers like Chief Keef have a career
they would rather blame Wayne in here versus him, Thug or ya know, Future 😏
Kendrick is literally receiving more praise now than at any point in his career
Obviously, but that wasn’t the case prior to the beef lol
Keef helped birth them
yeah and they dumbed it down to another level because they couldnt talk about the same s*** keef was talking about lol
Do any of yall remember when a few kids from KTT went to Keef’s mansion
Obviously, but that wasn’t the case prior to the beef lol
it’s also a lie anyways lol
Kendrick TPAB-DAMN was essentially a God at that point
Obviously, but that wasn’t the case prior to the beef lol
Well yeah, you have to make catchy music to capture the youth
That’s always been the case
they would rather blame Wayne in here versus him, Thug or ya know, Future 😏
Why do you hate Young Thug so much lmao
it’s also a lie anyways lol
Kendrick TPAB-DAMN was essentially a God at that point
I mean yea but I’m also not gonna disagree with anyone who says he hit a new critical and commercial peak here because it’s also kind of true
yeah and they dumbed it down to another level because they couldnt talk about the same s*** keef was talking about lol
I like Keef but why you talking like he was some kind of lyricist?

Im not saying he's some amazing lyricst. But i also dont think he was just randomly saying stuff like Carti
Astroworld 2021
yeah you're right but i meant something more focused on the music like a new gen artist or album that defines a decade.
i really dont know the impact of the astroworld situation other than artists becoming more performative about caring for their audience during the show
Travis Scott is also a last gen rapper let’s be 100% here
Carti and Uzi are more responsible for the absolute decay of lyricism than keef imo
People applauding Uzi's "verse" on Bad and Boujee was a watershed moment in hip-hop

WLR and EA began the decade. Covid hurt both their max impact but it was still there

He absolutely was
Now don’t get me wrong, Some of the stuff he was saying was real. He obviously grew up around violence
But wouldn’t that just also make him a dumbed down rapper?
People applauding Uzi's "verse" on Bad and Boujee was a watershed moment in hip-hop
Hip hop giving Uzi his flowers was basically the millennial generation finally exiting their “I only listen to real hip hop” stage

I think his tactic is to catch you off guard, you see him and expect eminem type raps but you hear yeat/carti type sounds and people get thrown off. either way hope he d*es
