SOC is the iconic NWA album but imo N4L is even better. Yes, there is no Cube on the sophomore, but there are more great songs and Dre's rapping is much better on this project. Plus each remaining member is at peak charisma here. An underrated classic

That being said I think it’s great but Cubes presence on straight outta Compton

I don’t think it’s as groundbreaking or has the content to match, like there was a lotta social commentary in SOC. But still this is a good album definitely one of the first g funk albums

I like how it kicks off by responding, with the news skits and s***, to the backlash SOC received and basically doubling down on the aggressiveness. Starting the album with "Real Niggaz Don't Die" is pretty powerful imo then Niggaz 4 Life follows which is talking about making it out of the hood and getting a job lol the first half of the album is overshadowed by the absurd/goofy second half.

Beat wise easily. Dre really goated here.

But, without Cubes consciousness, they basically became sorta gimmicky with the shock value and excessive misogyny.
