Bro this show is getting the Fetty Wap treatment
Been seeing nonstop tweets about it
They are planning on making the live action show and new animation show
I deadass thought for a bit they were gonna pull some bullshit like “aang and katara are meant to be best friends”
and have her and zuko get together because they relate with each other about some of their past and she’s attracted to the bad boy trope bullshit.
Would have made the ending of the show so much worse in every conceivable way.
and keep in mind i wasn’t even against the idea of them not getting together by the end.
I just didn’t need it to be that way
Exactly. Lmao one of my first anxiety attacks was probably watching that S2 finale with Katara about to waste that spirit water on Zuko lmao
Man immediately puts the clown shoes on and gets played by Azula once again
I definitely am not expecting the same tone.
Thanks. I guess i will see soon enough.
I will add that the action is really cool. Different, again, less traditional martial arts, but they do some really cool s*** with modernizing bending.

I really was about to say lmao
is aang really anyone's favorite character......
Wtf
since when do people dislike Aang
Sokka really had all the bad b****es
the last p**** bender
Not Azula. Never her.

If you're just expecting more of the same ATLA vibes, don't. It's different.
But it definitely is an interesting show with some great moments. It expands on the lore in some unexpected ways, some very controversial. The villains are better, for the most part. None of them got Azula's drip though. Some of the more adult themes discussed on Korra also make for better discussion, a lot of gray areas, both in universe and out, creatively.
I think overall ATLA has more charm with both their characters and their environment, but Korra has a bit more to chew on, for better or worse.
It's worth checking out imo. You gotta RIDE through S2 though cause that s*** is mostly just trash, but kinda important for lore.
They set up the villains as complex with grey motivations, but they never had the balls to go all the way. A perfect example of this is how they handled Amon: he was set up with a grey motivation, but by the end, he was just using that as a cover for a more black and white motiv. The villains aren’t better than Ozai. “Grey” villains are only good if they’re actually grey.
Top five for me
Iroh
Zuko
Sokka
Katara
Azula
Also maybe this is a hot take but i think the fire lord should have been developed a bit more as a character.
would have made the finale more impactful for me.

But overall don’t you think most of the issues raised not only just by the villains, but by the show in general were more interesting? Agreed, Amon and the dude from S2 were vanilla but the situations surrounding them gave us a lot to think about. (Don’t want to spoil too much just in case) While with Ozai it was pretty straight forward good and evil through and through till the end dealing with Aangs spirituality. Ozai was cool but his plan and motivations were easily the most basic. Azula was better than him. But other than her, I don’t think ATLA had such a great rogues gallery. Maybe I’m forgetting some one and dones. The water tribe witch was fire though.
We needed more Guru Pathik content
Just one convo between he and Iroh and I’ll finally ascend

**After a few days on Netflix, Avatar: The Last Airbender has rocketed up the charts and is now currently the number 1 title on Netflix and the most popular TV series on Netflix in the US.
It’s rare for licensed titles to hit the top of the charts but it’s especially nice to see Avatar: The Last Airbender hit the top spot given Netflix’s vested interest in the future of the franchise.**

Not surprising at all
Nick had absolutely no idea what they were sitting on with this franchise and I’m glad it’s been handed over to a platform that knows how to handle an IP like this and can give it the resources it deserves to grow.
If they nail this live action, we could be talking GOT/Stranger Things tier success

Show put me on to Buddhism fr fr
Glad the writers who tried to ship them lost.
S*** would have been
A. So last minute
B. Disrespectful to Aang and Katara’s building relationship.
Like imagine getting your girl taken by the man that’s been trying to kill you and her for like 90 percent of that entire year you have known her.
jesus
Kinda like what happened with Finn, Rey and Kylo.
Kylo nearly killed Finn but Rey could have gave less of a f***.

I read a leak from production that Netflix is planning on giving the live action a game of thrones budget.
Aang and sokka might be bottom two for me as well
Niggas hate sokka now?
literally my favorite character

Most definitely planted some seeds that only later in my life started to blossom. Im thankful for being able to watch the show during my impressionable years.
Niggas hate sokka now?
literally my favorite character
I don't hate him he just doesn't do it for me like toph or Zuko or azula or Suki or iroh or katara or momo or King Boomy
Aang and Katara always gave me sibling vibes so them ending up together never did anything for me
Sokka and the Moon Queen relationship >>>
