yeah i don't think it was really worded that wrongly. he was responding to the idea that black people get locked up at a higher rate in america, which is true, because they commit more crimes.

now the reason why they commit more crimes is the interesting question, and has to do with low employment, systemic descrimination, low opportunities, disenfranchisment, etc

but cops merely exist to prevent crime, and you can't expect them to be sociologists and activists. the problem goes so much beyond them. fixing it is complicated

I've never had a bad interaction with police, but I'm definitely wary of them because of what I see happening to other black people on television and the news.

A black man sitting in his house, gets shot by the police and then the police get away with it? That could be me or someone I know.

People do need to find a source of their problems, but we should look at what's causing the disconnect between the community and police (and why police are sometimes more likely to be harsher with African-American/Blacks.
