    Nope. lol.

Sounds like a party song. That bass line is f***ing LIFE. Incredible guest verse.

    Inneresting

Everything production wise sounded a bit sad and dark to me (like mourning the loss of his mom)

Even Believe What I Say has that vibe within the context of the album

I love Jesus Lord but the speech at the should’ve been a skit. I understand why it’s put there but completely stops the song in its tracks

His best since Yeezus imo. The highs surpass TLOP and the lows are about equal.

I don't think it comes close to the first 6 albums, nor do I think Kanye will ever come close to those again. And that's perfectly fine. Donda is the best-case scenario for a Kanye album at this stage in his career.

I'd put songs like Come To Life, Jail, 24, Hurricane, and Jesus Lord up there with some of his best work. Moon, Off The Grid, Believe What I Say, Lord I Need You, and Praise God are all honorable mentions. That's a stellar list of tracks in itself and there are still plenty more like God Breathed and No Child Left Behind that shine in the context of the record.

It's a great album. Flawless? No. A classic like his original run? Probably not. But nonetheless, I love it. Had it dropped in any year other than the one Nurture by Porter Robinson dropped it'd be my AOTY, and even so it's pretty close.

    Dark?

Doesn’t even have any curse words.

    curse words =/= dark

great to hear kanye being great again but because he has no consequences and the nature of music production (everything can be changed with last minute and what is last minute if you can always change ur tracks on streaming?) there will never be that sense of cohesion

maybe yeezus being an “open casket to cd’s” was less about the jewel cases and more about the idea of sequencing an album altogether

What is everyone’s overall thoughts on the album?

I think it’s a great album. I think after Jesus Lord it definitely tails off into the long category but Come To Life is an amazing song and should’ve really been the outro.

Jail part 2 has the better guest verse but Jail part 1 has a better sound.

    Production feels on point.

Definitely an improvement following Ye and JIK but in terms of his overall catalogue is probably just above them two and below everything else.

we must come to the realization the beatles have met their match
