I’m a victim of fat positivity culture. I’d probably be in shape if I grew up in Korea or japan eating bland tea based snacks

This is true to some extent of course, but it's countered by the mass amount of legal and restrictive practices done to specifically act preventative to the adoption of smoking (within the US). This definitely worked as well, because prior to vaping, cigarette consumption fell dramatically in hte US

however, you don't necessarily see this with other forms of things passed on generationally which are just as unhealthy (hell, even alcohol). of course, i'm not advocating for a bloomberg nanny state, but i do think it's interesting where focus goes and doesn't in these circumstances

What are you even arguing atp lol you just said things like alcoholism aren’t passed down

"I’m a victim of fat positivity culture"

    get a grip bro lol

  • Sounds like a good idea. People really don't understand how fat people struggle with their condition and I say that as someone who's never been fat.

Calling something a "phobia" just because people point out a lifestyle is unhealthy is ridiculous.

What rights aren’t would be a better question

    • can’t smoke in restaurants any more

    • constant tax increases even while the base price of cigarettes continues to explode

    • they even got parks that they don’t let you smoke in now. OUTSIDE

    • doctors refuse to perform surgeries on you

    • were not allowed to advertise and educate people on our lifestyle while the girl in OP gets a NYT article just for being fat

    • age limits becoming increasingly restrictive

    I can go on

Some of these make sense though, your smoking literally effects those around you. You’re not just harming yourself when you’re smoking.

i'm saying things tend to only be passed down if there aren't restrictive societal measures taken in wider context. statistically specific health things like diet are passed down easier than addictions due to both direct societal taboos and adopted legal restrictions, which by comparison are always focused on substances rather than on sociocultural things like diet or health.

why they coddle fat people like this while smokers rights get rolled back every year?

now watch all the libs get in their shaming “bad habits” bag now that I bring up smokers while they cry about how fat people shouldn’t be shamed

Make it make sense. Have some consistency.

I was at an airport recently and they had more dog s***ting areas available than smoking areas s*** was absurd
