Nah that’s is 100% a serious post
Op new gimmick is to call people biased as if the premise of his whole s*** thread isn't biased
Lmao at the list, pac, big and jay the only ones touching him!
Drake has no classic, Em been trash for 20 years and Wayne doesn’t have a good album not named Carter and even then they’re hit and miss, and Kanye don’t even write his own s*** and hardly produces his own s*** these days
Plus Nas won a Grammy literally this year
Wayne got classic tapes and even if that Carter s*** is true thats more good albums than Nas
Rather listen to ye than Nas anyday
That wasn't the discussion but I feel you on that.
Niggas really turning on Nas after winning a Grammy. You hate to see it.
What's funny is that I find it impressive that Nas can still gain buzz without pandering to the pop crowd like a lot of other rappers.
Illmatic is considered a GOAT rap album. IWW was the first NY rap album to ever go number 1 on the charts. Life Is Good went number 1 on the charts in 2012 without a smash hit. Lost Tapes 2 almost sold as much as "The Gift" from the Lions King Soundtrack. And Nas just won a Grammy for a rap album from 2020.
His longevity without chasing hits or charts is unparalleled. Ya'll keep praising Jay but Jay had Samsung buying his s***, tons of hooks from bigger artists like Kanye, Beyonce, Rihanna, Timberlake, and Alicia helping him keep buzz and he's had the hottest beatmakers on his side.
Niggas acting like Nas is Tech N9NE status or some s*** but the fact Nas last year outsold the same Young Jeezy who mocked him and said "Does Nas bust his guns?" in 2006 when he dropped HHID. He also outlasted Dipset who also used to diss him and has a stronger legacy than 50 Cent who made him a punching bag in Piggy Bank.
It is what it is though. Nas and Wayne are both my GOATs which some might find unusual but it's all subjective tbh.
Carter 2 and 3 are, not arguable
And after that 1,4,5 have better cases than Nas discog outside Illmatic/It was written
You have to go to an Arlo’s food truck if you’re ever in Austin
“Objectively speaking”
lol if you’re “objectively” thinking the answer is of course

" IWW was the first NY rap album to ever go number 1 on the charts. "
So beastie boyz dont exist?
And for the record, Nas did try to chase hits. He just wasn't as good as others with it. He still had success and longevity. I can just name at least 5 MCs with a better legacy

4 and 5 way more recognizable and have more classic tracks
One of the best storytellers who has inspired and influenced the greats of this generation
Still releasing solid bodies of work in different decades of his career (Life is Good & Kings Disease)
One of the most undisputed GOAT rap albums ever in Illmatic
Your favorite rapper's favorite rapper is Nas
I mean I respect that you have a different view/take but honestly there are other guys on the list in OP that I'd take off wayyyyy before Nas
Illmatic is single highhandedly one of the most , if NOT most important rap album
