Workout went really really good today. Feel like I finally got the right angle for front squats with a barbell. For some reason I was really struggling for quite a while.

I wouldn’t be here without motivation like this to keep going
What range of sets per muscle group in general do y’all do?
Week 1: 3-4 sets per workout
Week 2: 4-5 sets per workout
Week 3: 5-6 sets per workout
Week 4: 3 sets per workout w/ light weight
Rinse and repeat
I mentioned it a few times in here but most people do way too much volume
I’m typically a 4 day a week lifter but I went down to 3 since I’ve added running to my cut szn and I’ve been able to maintain my strength 30 lbs in
tbh, most people will benefit more from going 4 to 5 days a week.
If you gonna cut down on volume (if its necessary) then you should probably do it on your workout

Eh I don’t care to go back and forth on this. But if you’re on a cut the primary objective of lifting is retention of muscle mass and strength.

The subjects that did no training at all during the 32 weeks lost 30% of their muscle size. However, subjects that performed 1/9th of the original training volume did not lose any muscle size.
As for muscle strength, the group that did not train did not show a decrease in strength. The 1/9th training group even showed a small increase in strength.
You don’t need much volume to maintain on a cut. You certainly don’t need 4 and 5 days in the gym when you could be spending that time burning calories doing cardio.

sure. my main point was mostly for people who are trying to build muscle. Going 4-5 days a week is probably the most optimal

Okay I half agree because I think 4 day splits are perfect and 5 is still a bit much. Thought you were referring to the context of my post where I mentioned lowering volume for the cut.
Back to kickboxing after a month long flu. Felt atrocious
