I think it’s overrated. You’d get more work from using 1-4 plates and moving your feet placements to activate different parts of your glutes, quads and hamstrings. I found the heavier I go, the less I’m able to really focus on engaging my core through the whole movement and really feeling that stretch in my hammies/glutes by trying to get a deep press
my core is very strong so i'm able to get deep stretches, activation is never an issue
just wanted to know if its considered heavy because ive been thinking of going closer to 700 and dialing back my rep range from 8-10 to 6-8 and see if i can get more growth

I’d say it’s pretty damn heavy. Think it might help, if you want growth, to work on increasing your failure range at your present weight versus going up. unless that weight deadass just doesn’t feel challenging and you’re failing at high rep ranges where it’s like “ight, I can definitely go up” lol
for example, I’d rather do 3 x 15 at 685 than do 3 x 8 at 700
if I was gonna do 3 x 8 at the high weight, I’d at least try to get a high rep range set at the lower weight first or use it as a dropset when I start failing at that higher weight. it’s a lot of little adjustments and playing around but I’ve seen the most growth this year with this methodology
Back on the calorie counting train, mixed with exercise of course, now that busy season at work is over
finally broke that bench plateau
