Definition of fasting - "abstain from all or some kinds of food or drink, especially as a religious observance."

You don't need to be awake to get the benefits of fasting or IF, you just need to make sure there's a long enough window of time where you're not eating - in that window you can be asleep, it still IF. It's not hard to understand.

Yea and I'm fasting between lunch and dinner that doesn't mean it meets any threshold for meaningful effect

I'm not even sure why you're arguing with me. 10-14 hrs is the time between your last meal of the day and your first one the next day - which is what I said in my initial post, you don't need to be awake in that 10-14. That's a form of IF and you still get the benefits of a fast wether you're awake or not, dunno why you're bringing up not eating lunch and dinner, has zero to do with what I said initially.

16 hours IF + low carb + HIIT + strength training has been an amazing combo for me. Throw in the odd 24 hour fast twice a month and it has worked wonders for me during the pandemic.

IF can work but it’s more about the fact it’s harder to eat as much in a smaller window than anything else lol

    You wanna what?

Weighted Chin Ups. I weigh almost 200 but I can do chin-ups with 75lbs.

Imagine being able to add 200lbs to your chin-ups while a lot of people can’t even do their own body weight

Sorry bruhs but I don’t see the hype in all these diets goin around

Lose weight? Eat less or less calorie dense food + do cardio

Gain weight? Eat more + lift heavy (kinda)

    Where’s the science

so why doesn't it work for everybody? and why do people pack the weight back on long term? lmao it's not that simple man.

the nutrition part is easy as in cutting out bad foods but meal timing and regulating hormones like insulin/ghrelin can help people who have plateaued or whose bodies have adjust to their caloric deficit. your metabolism will correspond to the calories you put in so at one point or another once you return to normal consumption you will pack the weight back on.

I agree 100% with all this

That’s why crash diets are not sustainable cause ur body is not a simple thermodynamic vehicle & these metabolic cycles do influence the rate of weight fluctuation. Key word is “rate” tho so if you wanna have good quality of life & achieve your desired goal u need to do research on differential caloric intake. Basically limiting your deficit or surplus to avoid the metabolic stagnation

But if u just wanna lose weight then regardless your body will still adhere to the laws of thermodynamics if u go on a crazy cut. It’s jus not good as far as overall quality of life.

& things like pituarity gland hormones really don’t have a HUGE impact unless u are an anomaly.

End of the day, what works for ppl works for ppl but I feel like some pp jump on diets a fad & compromise things they like even if they end up with results, which shouldnt really be the way to go

    Bonus b****:

Functional excercise are just instagramable trash. If you wanna get jacked or shredded u don’t need all that extra s***

I see a bunch Instagram personal trainers doing 40 backflips & squatting on their toes then fuk up basic foundational excercises

Apologies fam I understand where you’re coming from. I researched a lot before I tried what I’m doing and I agree that more often than not people won’t do that and will follow something because it’s the new thing.

I believe you because when people have asked me why I’ve done things and I’ve tried to explain they never follow up on it and get upset with me when it doesn’t work. 👍🏽
