I’ve been lifting for about 5 years now haha. i pretty much just try my top set to be 5-10lbs heavier each workout

    it’s been since July

Not hating but I'd say its nearly impossible for anybody to gain 20lb of muscle in a 4 month period, your history of training for 5 years makes it even less likely. How are you calculating your gain in muscle? Happy to see that you're progressing in your lifts .

Can’t do 9pm sleep but I’ll try and push it earlier

you'll feel so much better man

more sleep will lead to better workouts and better workouts should improve your sleep

  • doing a ~200-250 caloric surplus this time around in the gym for a leaner approach. my waist isn't expanding so much that I have to buy all new clothes within 4 weeks, feeling good

bro unless you got crazy genetics 20lbs pure muscle is crazzy in like 2 1/2 months hahah have you noticed any fat gain ?

a little bit, I’ve definitely lost a bit of definition in my abs but mostly my upper body has filled out a bit more and my legs are a little bigger

shouldn’t have said just muscle there’s def some fat there, but I do know I’m very noticeably stronger in all my lifts, have gained 20 lbs since June, and my chest, shoulders, arms etc look bigger.

    5 month break

muscle memory got my bench strength back much quicker than my legs' strength

should be just a matter of weeks before it gets back to normal tho

    1RM bench rn is 209lbs, 1RM squat 198lbs

It really isn't a matter of sets or anything it's just muscle memory doing its thing and I'm really not surprised. My legs were my weakest point and it took me deadass twice as long as other muscle groups to finally have good development and when I took a break they were the first to go and I literally kept zero muscle on my legs contrary to my upper body so I had to start from scratch again

but to answer your questions I'm hitting em twice a week, one strength day 5x5 and one hypertrophy day low weight heavy reps. same goes for benching days
