how much rest time do yall usually take in between sets? thinking of increasing mine a bit.
depends
strength work will be longer rests 1-2 minutes
accessory / bodybuilding work is usually 30-60 seconds
ye sorry my dude thats what gets most people, tracking your calories soo important otherwise everything you do in the gym for nothing
How many calories a day is a good number? Currently I tried under 1500

Gah damn that s*** says 2800, no way I eat that many in a day

yea u can. Its gonna be hard in the beginning but u can. To reach mg caloric surplus intake i gotta eat 2600 and i been making that consistent
I set a timer every 2 hours. Every 2 hours i gotta eat something. I keep nuts and sandwich stuff at work and protein shakes wit 2 scoops and whole milk in between meals.
Setting the time is key. Cause skinny dudes like us be forgetting to eat. Try that!

If you really weigh 165 at 5’11 then 1500 will drop weight off your body like melting butter. It’s almost too low of a deficit for health reasons for a man. At your height and weight stick to around 2k if you’re trying to lose a Lb a week and u do some cardio

Take 2-5 minutes on compound lifts. If you can be fully recovered for another set after less than 2 minute rest you’re training like a p****
Holy f*** this leg day was hard as hell.
a new trainer kinda messed wit my head a lil bit. Which one is better for a skinny dude to build muscle, lifting weights or calisthenics? Dude said he woulda started me off on calisthenics before i even start lifting weights. I was like damn i dont even need to be here then lol. But what do yall think?
Sounds like you should fire him lmao.
Nah but I can see the benefit of calisthenics especially for someone with super low strength etc, but even that’s still not necessary at all.
Just get in the gym and focus on a newbie compound movement intensive program like starting strength or strong lifts. Use low enough weight to not get injured but at the novice level you’re gonna be adding weight to the bar like a f***inn buffet
physique right before lockdown in sydney. i'm probably 2-3 kg lighter now than i am in this picture. want to fill out my chest even more once gyms open up and get a bit leaner
this is ideal leanness right here imo for any non-competitor.
I’d say add some mass at that bf and you’ll be stealing Nighas girls on the beach
Sounds like you should fire him lmao.

Ngl dude built like a potato man. But dude got ninja agility. He was showing me next level advanced calisthenics. I didnt know a big nigga could move like that. He prolly plays football.
But yea i needed some extra opinions on that matter cause i was like aint it all the same but lifting makes u bigger cause its more weight and resistence

Same thing applies except you can afford to eat a little more than 2k then. I’d stick with the 1800-2200 calorie range depending on your energy expenditure/cardio
apparently i wasn't training my calves, so i added in single leg calf raise
Them calf raises are a silent assassins fr. So simple but they f*** u up

I have no clue bro. im just a beginner. My trainer has me doing calf raises to end leg day though and they were rough as s***.
He has me doing 10 reps for 10 steps. so 100 in total and dude is brolic as hell and knows what he talking about so id say try that

Sheesshh bro
inspiration
Just wasn’t feeling it in the gym today. My CNS felt shot and so was my lower back when doing deadlifts and OHP. Went home kinda early
Tried eating light in the morning but I don’t think that does me good. Need at least 1000calories before hitting the gym.
its funny if you look around the gym you see ppl doing workouts wrong 80% of the time tbh
