Just a heads up, there's a Linux Essentials cert from the Linux Professional Institute you can take for $120: https://www.lpi.org/our-certifications/linux-essentials-overview
That's way less than you'd spend taking L+ at COMPTIA. I'd give that a brief once over before just so you're aware of your options.
Also, don't want to assume what you do/do not know about Linux, so I'll just put this out here for anyone who comes across this comment:

If you a California resident you can get A+ and Sec+ certified for free through Calbright which is an online California community college. They also offer salesforce admin cert for free too.
It's a great program that not many people know about. You learn at your own pace and have access to resources, instructors and counselors all for free. Also undocumented people are also eligible too! All you need to qualify is a high school diploma or G.E.D.
there's zero programming required in IT. learning how to script is as close to programming as you'll get and you can be successful without it.
yo programmers wouldnt do s*** without system admins and you post advice that literally has no coverage in the real world and come off as a dumbass whats the point
Realistically if I were to start learning Python today, could I land an entry level job by end of this year, early next year?

That’s what I needed to hear. First step is learning and getting certified rn. Then I gotta make sure I have strong projects and a strong interview

Good suggestion.
Cybersecurity folks-- how difficult do you think it is transitioning from GRC to a more technical role down the line?
Been thinking about my long-term career aspirations

I believe he started in GRC and transitioned to Cloud Security. I've message him before and he's gotten back to me.

True, but personally, knowing how to code just makes you so much more dangerous. The industry is heading towards automation so it's worth investing in, even if you don't reach mastery.

Appreciate it. I'm compiling a info dump and will update OP accordingly. This field is too big for everyone not to at least get a piece. F a gatekeeper.

awesome chart, thanks for sharing!
Microsoft certs are in high demand atm from Microsoft Partners. you need a certain # of individuals in your org certified to achieve certain partner program designations (allow for bonuses/incentives from MSFT as well as allowing Partners to stand out from their competitors), and so they are worth their weight in gold.
