Trials of Mana was pretty fun and Visions of Mana is reportedly coming out this summer
Finished after 140 hours; beautiful game. Narrative isn’t really worth talking about but I do want to say that there is a large amount of characters in this game and the small interactions between these characters is actually really good.
Presentation and art direction in this game is extremely strong, from the beautiful backgrounds from when you enter battle to the victory screen music and animation when you complete a stage, all of this just leads to a really satisfying and rich experience; special shoutout to the sound design, might not be as good as the sound of blowing up 50 kaijus at once in 13 Sentinels but being close to that is a feat in itself.
The gameplay is really the highlight of the game and you are basically setting gambits/if statements for your units (squad) before they engage in battle and the battle then plays itself out in front of you (which is also why presentation is so important in this game), all the fun comes from this setup phase because there is an insane amount of classes in this game that all do different things and when you combine that with how important equipment is the build varieties in this game just become endless. Economy in this game is also really thought out because each town has limited items and some also have new equipment so you do have to actually think about spending your resources.
Theres also online PvP in this game that gives you limited currency if you win which you can use to get really good items for team building (If you complete 10 fights regardless of W/L you get 200 of the limited currency and this resets every 24 hours so you can still get items if you somehow suck and you SHOULD be doing this as often as possible; its also really fun just seeing what compositions other people came up with).
Anyways, I already loved 13 Sentinels but this game really made me a Vanillaware fan, going to have to try out their previous games at some point.

It's a pretty solid game. Characters were decent, combat was fun (though very easy), music is great, though I found each of the stories to be a bit disappointing since they all felt incredibly predictable. Would check it out if you're interested. Don't think you'd be disappointed with it.
