I mean the homeless people in the area buy the cheaper 1-2 dollar ones pretty often, just because they aren't the wisest with financial/life decisions

But the worst addicts buying 50 dollars tickets repeatedly usually seem like pretty normal people outside of their insane gambling addiction

ok ya that makes sense. I fw the homeless people buying it. plus if u win youll by be a super badass by winning the lotto homeless. could get a movie or something after y.

50 year old who is a really high functioning gambling addict. thats all cringe

But that guy I was describing spends about 500-1000 a day where I work on those things

So he must have had a job making decent money to be able to do that daily just through savings/whatever he does manage to win back

And I know he goes to multiple different stores and does it not just mine

    500-1000 a DAY? holy f***.
even if he won like a 5 million dollar jackpot, you would spend that buying tickets like that everyday for 10 years

Well what he does is he dips onto his savings, and also puts every single penny he wins back into it

    So he never gets anywhere

plus it gives u a bit of false hope

And there are times where he has great luck, winning 100s or 500s in a row

The hole he has dug is just too big so he doesn't let it stack up he just spends it hoping to make the entire amount he has lost back

Id imagine he feels stupid so he is fiending for that moment where he will like randomly win a million dollars or something and be able to tell all of his friends and family "I told you so!" But there's just no chance it's going to happen

and even if he did win
he would probably still be in the hole with how mch hes spending everyday.

if bro just took that money and put it in a piggy bank he coulda just gifted himself a million after 10 years

Accepting defeat and just like giving up on the scratch offs would basically mean everyone who told him he was being an idiot were right and he has destroyed his life for colorful pieces of paper

He'd probably off himself or have a mental breakdown

All he can do is hold on to the like 1/10000000 chance that he wins big or he has to accept what he has done

u know what cracks me up. is imagining people in rehab for dumb stuff being judged by the other people.
like somebody going to rehab or marjuana because its court mandated or someone going to rehab for kratom or something lol

going in there and its ppl who shot up heroin with rusty needles for 15 years, and its like 21 year old that was caught with a joint lol.

i wonder if theres a hierarchy like that for gambling too.
oh yeah hes just a dirty scratch off player. not me i used to play russian roulette

And I have to stand here and sell to him everyday

It makes me question things a bit. Like obviously I personally am not doing anything wrong but it feels a bit nasty

There should be more options for people to refuse service to people when it's clear that they are dealing with serious crippling addictions like that

Like at a point to me it becomes morally reprehensible for a system to exist and take advantage of addicts like that and id prefer having an option where I didn't have to encourage it

  • Br00ses 🐇

Which like obviously I could get a different job, but there should be ways for you to work these jobs without having to deal with that

I don't see what the issue would be unless they are willing to proudly say they are fine with destroying lives through gambling addiction

yeah i get that that woudl be bothersome.
obviously hes an adult and youre an adult and he is allowed to spend his money how he wants.
but it certaintly doesnt make you feel productive by doing business with people like that.

the other thing too is if say it was banned, someone like that would probably be getting caught up in black market gambling with a lot of violence and youre a part of a system saving him from that.

it would be nice if you could refuse service if youre intoxicated like with alcohol if you feel like the person is being taken advantage of or put in a bad situation

It already exists for liquor you can refuse a sale if someone is clearly intoxicated

    It's yucky

Like I don't see it as though I'm doing something negative personally

idk how much it would do for discouraging people like that, but i wish there was a mandate that all lotteries and games in a casino need to have a clearly labeled infograph of their odds

The scratch offs do all have the odds clearly written on the back
