I followed it from the very beginning until I dropped it during the Knightmares arc and finishing it now I get why they fired him off the main book lmao.
I love Tom King (especially The Omega Men and Grayson) but the writing really felt off at times and some arcs were just frustrating / a bore to go through so while it has some great moments it's a whole lotta mid for me unfortunately.
I appreciate the ambition of the whole run, how it's mostly self-contained and how everything ties together in but the last arc also fell flat in my opinion.
King a b**** for teasing the wedding and walking it back. All that promo for nothing.
Can't wait
ngl i'm excited for that s***.. even though people aren't too happy about it all lol

It wasn't King that did that bro, it was editorial that f***ed him heavy. At least from all the stuff i've heard. Even with Heroes In Crisis, they made him change it to be all that BS with Wally and s***. Editorial just need to let the mans eat tbh

King has come out and said it was his plan and blah blah, but we all know damn well that was prob Didio being a dumbass.

Editorial is WOAT then, I was wondering why he would switch up like that and Heroes in Crisis is even worse. Somebody up top must not like him.

Didio def was behind Heroes in Crisis. It was going to be a totally different thing when Tom initially announced it, but he admitted himself that Didio wanted to take it a different direction.
But yeah they fumbled the f***ing bag with the whole wedding thing. S*** was unreal haha

I should've known Didio had a hand in HiC, he has a weird hate for younger characters. All those poor Titans slaughtered for nothing.

DC did him wrong by promoting the marriage so much with variants, special pages in other batfamily books etc... just to spoil everything in the press before the comic released.
Only thing he did wrong was teasing the marriage for 25 issues (but that's the main issue with his run, it just drags some points too long).
I personally didn't mind since I never cared about his relationship with catwoman before.

That's why i fw indie comics because they don't have editorial telling them what to do lol. total freedom for the most part

I like indie comics but the irregular release schedule is a big issue for me. It's hard for me to stay invested in a series when by the time the next issue comes out I've probably have forgotten most of the plot.
Last one I read was Deadly Class almost two years ago, just saw that it's finished so will reread it and The Wicked + The Divine now that it's over.

Yup i feel that too lol. I usually trade wait or even just wait until a series is done before i read. I did that with East by West, and that s*** was a ride. Def recommend that book. I couldn't imagine f***ing pulling that book monthly though lmao.
Finished Deathstroke (the rebirth series), Christopher Priest really gave us an all-time great run
I wish the last two arcs had not been one crossover followed by tying into an event though

Priest was really such a great choice for Deathstroke. Loved that run and the art was fire too.
Got the JLA Grant Morrison Omnibus for Christmas. Glad to own the greatest superhero teamup comic of all time in a full format.

It just came out in November. I've been waiting for this since I read it in 2011.
Mysterious Man background on Evolution was intriguing
Invasion Omega vs Cerberus war was brutal
Homeworlds might be the best yet, each chapter dedicated to one of Shepard companions. Garrus will always be my favourite.
Also that Joker one-shot got me howling
Anybody pulling any of the DC Future State stuff this week? I tuned out during all the Metal stuff but the Future State stuff has me excited to buy comics again

I’m pulling the first issue of every title just to check em out. My LCS has been getting DC stuff a week early so I have the most of the books set to come out this week already lol. From what I’ve read so far, the Batman book written by John Ridley was interesting, and the Swamp Thing was prob my fave. Gonna check out the rest today/tomorrow.

I’m hoping that’s the case! I didn’t get that vibe from the new Batman and from Swamp Thing really. I’ll let you know for sure
