You’re piano playing is nice. Mix is definitely great. Maybe I’m tripping but we have to not get too far way from today’s textures too. Of course, the mixing makes it so Ye but it’s an interpolation of a rock song actually, and I didn’t produce that one haha. The beat combined with the mixing makes it sounds like 808s, but the song that inspired the melody and lyrics couldn’t be any less 808s haha

Studio Monitors are def the most accurate but the way the room is treated and the placement of them can have a big impact on that accuracy. Imo headphones are more consistently reliable if ur room isn’t treated. I honestly haven’t even had monitors for the last couple years (mainly due to $$$).

You can get some nice Audio Technica headphones for around $100 or less and they’ll get you right. Flat frequency response and all that jazz compared to some headphones like Beats by Dre which get drowned out in bass.

Def play ur stuff on as many devices as you can, even the best speakers in the world can trick u.

I’m kind of scared to make my first beat. Is vinyl the best way to sample or do cd and mp3s work too? I have a laptop with great specs but no CD player lol. I have some vinyls and no turntable
