I was following a tutorial to understand how to arrange and record in this daw. (it was building a trap beat lol). I was trying to remake an old r&b beat and couldn’t at all lol. The drum pattern is real simple but my ears couldn’t break it down due to lack of aural library. So the simple drum pattern came out. Then I decided to add literally two chords (7th chords, C and E). Chord 1, Chord 1, Chord 2 and Chord 2. Then they were a small gap of silence that didn’t sound right. I found that vocal choir which sounds like typical horror movie s***. It’s just one note being held, F# under a very high octave. I don’t think I want to add more to it. I’m willing to come back to it when I get better. It’s very basic and I guess only be used for something small like a scary flash game lol. I’m surprised I made something listenable. Idk if I should get better at this daw or go to fl or ableton.

How does one get amazing and creative with drum programming?

practice and for creativity, me personally i don’t use quantization, it’s all about that human feeling with the drums and using velocity with hi hats, etc

How do you get familiar with drums? I don’t have speaker monitors nor headphones.
Love the drum programming on these. I can understand remaking sample flips by ear but idk bout drum programming by ear. Sounds tough.
