yeah console graphics power really stepped it up this coming gen. i remember seeing that the series x gpu was matching the 2080 in a gears 5 demo. and their 8c/16t cpus
dlss 2.0 is fire. played it in control and it actually looks sharper than the true resolution and it allows enough gpu uplift to turn on all the rtx features. i really hope cyberpunk has it.
yeah next gen consoles are gonna be a massive upgrade
I think we will notice over time that games are able to do more on the computing side of things now that most games aren't being designed for 7 year old desktop hardware that was outdated the day it was released
yeah I've heard that about the power issue, I just get worried that amd will delay the cards but yeah it seems like RDNA2 will compete very well
and I keep hearing different things about the CUs on the consoles over the months, I think things are changing but yeah we will see once there out
this fall will be a great time for GPUs tho
The CUs have already been confirmed by both Microsoft and Sony, yes this fall will probably be the most competitive one in the gpu market in a long time. I don’t think amd will win but they will compete heavily in the high end space, which is all they really need to do.

hmm yeah seems like Microsoft will have the edge but TFLOPs aren't everything will be interesting to see how their graphics compare
I didn't know Sony confirmed the 32cu rumor, it is gonna be clocked a bit faster than the Xbox tho but I imagine clocks could change, Sony doubled the ram on the PS4 at the last minute
I'm super curious to see what next gen ray tracing will be like and if it will have some kind of hardware ASIC for it or be software
also MS and Sony have been saying it will play some games at 4k120/8k60 which makes me wonder if that will just be really good optimization or if there will be somethings like DLSS, checker board rendering or/and contrast adaptive sharpening with a lower resolution being scaled up
cause these GPUs would be 4k60 GPUs on PC but obviously the optimization can be much better on these consoles
and yeah that what matters most right now for the hi end gpu market, having competition again
If AMD can bring equal raytracing performance to their new GPUs as the RTX 30xx GPUs, it's gonna be a wrap, especially if Nvidia can't drop a 3060 this year

Changing clocks probably won’t happen that requires lots of R&D which is time and money. Plus its a console power limits are in place for those. Ram is just an off the shelf part they can add to the motherboard it’s completely different.
At least we know RDNA 2 is well over 2ghz on the power limits of a console. Says a lot about what desktop chips will be able to do

yeah that’s true the psu is probably already to spec
I need an NVMe SSD tho. Heard the prices are trash rn tho
Yeah, the one I bought was like $180 on Amazon.
I have everything now except a motherboard. I can't find any x570 boards anywhere.
I'm really considering getting a side monitor just for browsing and random s***, and use my main monitor for gaming. People with two monitors, anything worth knowing before making that purchase?

maybe in the future but i can't trust a wireless mouse or keyboard haha. a paracord cable could help make it cleaner
just get a logitech g915 keyboard and g pro wireless mouse. as reliable as it can get.

guy i was replying to was in the market for a wireless kb not me.

i like your monitor stand. send the link

Nothing major, consider making it the same refresh rate as your main monitor so you dont notice the transition between the two. Ideally itd look better if it were the same two monitors but it doesnt really matter.
Also vesa mounting is great and you should look into it if your monitors are compatible
Oh i almost forgot, since itd be your second monitor you might have it at an angle that isn’t directly facing you, if this is the case consider reading about the different display panel types. TN panels are notorious for having terrible viewing angles if youre not sitting directly infront of it or if they are in portrait mode

super cheap but good. wasn't my first choice but i wanted amazon shipping. kind of disappointed i can't stack on top of each other. can carry both my 27"s and hides cables well. definitely worth the price but don't expect amazing? expect good tho. there's also humanscale monitor arms for a good price on ebay.

mb just saw this. as much as i love 1440p gaming, if you don't plan having a top tier gpu all the time i'd go with a 1080p 144hz monitor for gaming. or 240 hz w/e. even if you do plan on having a top tier gpu i'd still rather get a 1080p for gaming. idk, i realized i'm not the biggest fan of my 1440p 144hz when i can't get 144 fps on ultra in cod/rdr2/etc. it can be a struggle to even get 1440p 60 fps on ultra/high with a lot of games. if you got any more questions lmk.
still love my dell 27" tho to everyone who has one 😂
@Yevin @husky my monitor is 2560 x 1440 165 hz and I was planning on getting a 1920 x 1080 240 hz strictly for competitive gaming, but the difference in refresh rates might be a problem, so idk what to do
oh wow, read post above lol.
if you mean like two different refresh rates for your monitors being a problem it shouldn't be. i'm running 144hz and 60hz and they work fine. unless you know of a problem
