The 5700xt is like 100€ more

im not really going to use it to play a lot of games its more for editing and development idk if im getting a new gen card anytime soon @Warriox

It's just that the 2000 series is s*** value rn and the price isn't rly gonna drop in retail. If you want it for it's actual value you need to buy used.

For example a 2080ti should be worth no more than $450 USD rn. A 2060 would maybe be worth $250-300, and that's being generous

I had some Nvidia GPU & Intel CPU in 2003 but I honestly couldn't remember what they were lol, it was some kind of pentium though

and whew nice upgrades though over the years

crazy how CPUs have actually gotten far cheaper but GPUs are so much more, I guess the thing is though GPUs are way larger these days while CPUs have stayed about the same

I honestly can't believe people are gonna pay $70k for a GPU

I want one pretty bad but I can't even fathom spending anything over $2k and that's still insane for something that will be on sale for $750 in a couple months lol, people gotta be trolling

I think it’s worth it. Technically it might be slightly cheaper (on a compute per dollar standpoint) to get two 3080s with an Nvidia link but optimizing over multiple gpus isn’t always straightforward. Not sure with gaming how that works.

    it works pretty badly man
I've tried SLI & Crossfire and some games, like maybe 10% get a performance boost of 40%-60% and then most games won't see any benefit
some games will even run a lot worse and you have to disable the second card

you would probably have a better experience with just a 3090 for gaming but it depends on the games your playing and what else you wanna do with the GPUs

  • Sep 17, 2020

you can only do nvlink on the 3090s this gen anyway
