it works pretty badly man
I've tried SLI & Crossfire and some games, like maybe 10% get a performance boost of 40%-60% and then most games won't see any benefit
some games will even run a lot worse and you have to disable the second card
you would probably have a better experience with just a 3090 for gaming but it depends on the games your playing and what else you wanna do with the GPUs
I’m more interested in doing machine learning on large datasets, but I honestly might have to get into gaming if I get this thing. Technically my lab has two RTX 6000s but it would be nice to work on personal projects.

ah makes sense and yeah you'd have to try out some games if your about to get a 3090 lol
So bots basically got them all...
yup everything sold out in a matter of seconds
Amazon hasn't gone live yet though
people on twitter are claiming they go live in 15 minutes

I doubt you'll lose your money if you do get one and try and flip it
these things are probably gonna be out of stock for a minute

yeah ive already got a 2080s so i dont really need a 3080, id rather upgrade my other components before a new gpu
Release was a complete s***show in the netherlands
seemed to be a s*** show all around
i know at microcenter here people that got them had to wait outside for 15 hours, everyone that came later didn't get anything
supply seems incredibly limited

here the shops had around 10-20 stock per gpu id say

my friend told me Microcenter had 80 cards but the photo he sent me looked like at least 500 people in line lol
yeah definitely seems super limited

damn Micro center said that they have more coming by October 12th so yeah it's probably gonna be a minute
I think it’s worth it. Technically it might be slightly cheaper (on a compute per dollar standpoint) to get two 3080s with an Nvidia link but optimizing over multiple gpus isn’t always straightforward. Not sure with gaming how that works.
Exactly. I would rather get one powerful GPU than connect two less powerful ones!
ngl I'm glad I'm not into building anything yet and letting this all play out till next year.
I would've been f***ed if I spent $200 on a Ghost S1 case.

yeah its funny for the last like 6-7 years AMD has always had the 350watt cards that were giant 3 slot designs when they try and compete in the high end and now Nvidia is putting out cards like that the year I wanted to switch to SFF lol
them using Samsung is why though, if these things were on TSMC they'd use like 30% less power
the only good news about using Samsung is that they have tons of extra capacity so once they get yields better in a couple months there should be a ton of cards
if they were using TSMC they'd be fighting with Apple, Qualcomm, AMD, Microsoft and Sony for capacity
Big Navi on TSMC 7nm+ should get 3080 tier performance for 275 watts according to rumors so that could be a good SFF card if its as good as the rumors say ofc
