also the 3080 underclocks extremely well, I'm sure we will see SFF mini-itx models after a while
you'd lose like 4-5% frames going with an underclocked smaller model, not bad and it should be quiet still
SLI is gonna end support next year

seems dead
guys, i can't find 3080s anywhere. I'm out of luck. Idk when they're gonna be back in stock.. i returned my 2080 super and got my money back but now i don't have a graphics card lol i feel naked in the these streets now. at this point, should i just pay extra and get the 3090?

if your willing to wait a couple months you can buy an EVGA 2080 super and register for the step up program
you'd definitely not get a 3080 probably until November or December maybe longer if demand is really as high as some think
The 3090 is looking underwhelming from recent leaks, I'm still thinking about trying to get one but I want to see reviews and official benchmarks before I make up my mind
I'm hearing the 3080s stock will be low until mid October but that there will be some cards restocking over the next few weeks just not a ton of cards

Do what Neon said or get a 3090 or 3080 20GB imo
Y’all think the 3090 gone sell out as fast as the 80?
I personally think it will be the same
there probably are less people trying to get it but I think there will be less 3090s than 3080s
hopefully I’m wrong though

Yes it will definitely be even less of 3090 cards

Yields are bad and its not a product they expect many ppl will buy due to its price, good luck if you really want one
Do you have a bot?

yeah those are the reasons I think there won't be many, the 3080 is a cut down 3090 so it would make sense that there is not many of them with the yield issues and yeah I'm sure there not expecting to sell as many
and I've been thinking about setting something up to get a 3090
if it’s only 10% better tho i’m not gonna get one at launch seems like too much of headache for something that isn’t that much better than the 3080
these guys leaked the 3080 so idk why their 3090 numbers would be off

f***. I guess I'll be waiting until November then. :( I prefer EVGA cards anyways.

yeah this definitely sucks
I wish Nvidia would tell everyone when cards are shipping out so people could at least backorder something and have a set date
we really just don't know when there will be enough stock
like with a new Apple product you order it and then you just have to wait a few months if you didn't get in early enough but at least you have some idea of when you'll get one
yeah at least EVGA has nice cards

RTX 3090 underwhelming? Yeah imma wait for that 2021 version of it then. Good thing that I'll be waiting until some time in 2021 or something to get one then!

yeah its looking like on average its about 5%-10% better than the 3080 in fps, I was hoping more like 15% maybe more benchmarks will show different results tho
I've also seen overclocked 3080s getting 3-11% more frames so that honestly seems like a better deal, the 3090 will overclock better tho but I think it will use a ton of power and be a space heater at those speeds
I knew the 3090 was a bad deal but I was at least hoping it would be a performance tier ahead of the 3080 it makes sense its so close though once you realize that they're basically the same card besides the 20% more cores and added ram which doesn't translate over into much gaming performance
but it seems like a great deal for people that use the ram and added cuda cores in none gaming programs
yeah I got a 3080 coming start of October maybe sooner, just going to use that for while until something truly better comes out
I still think a 3090ti is possible if were lucky enough to have AMD compete with the 3080 & 3090, I think the only bad thing about the 3080 is the small amount of ram I'm not sure how many more years that will last at 4k with ultra details on
which is probably why the 3080 with 20gb is coming, they can't really do a 3080ti without making the 3090 look pointless to gamers which they have done before to their titans
like when the 1080ti came out and it was basically just the titan XP with less ram, I think they'll do something like that but probably not for a year unless AMD competes
peoples fears (Jensen's dream) of everyone wanting the 30 series for mining seems unfounded now that I've seen the numbers
a 3080 can get 100mh while using 300-350 watts, maybe less with some undervolting
but you could get two used 5700xts and use almost half the power with better results for cheaper
good news for gamers at least unless we have another mining boom lol

Basically it's a better idea to wait for a RTX 3090 Super/Ti. The difference so far isn't good enough and I'd prefer to get a RTX 3090 but now so am I not fully convinced that it's worth it right now. I'll keep an eye on the RTX 3090 Super/Ti OC by ASUS etc. during 2021.

Yeah exactly, I feel like the refreshes will be a lot better for the 3090
should work depending on which 3080, I'm using a 650w PSU with my 3700x & 3080 also :-)
People usually over buy PSUs sizes

Exactly. I think everything will be worth the wait as what's out right now should be better in 2021. So I would say building a PC in 2021-2022 will be a better idea tbh.
