still no official D&P announcement
They’re probably prioritizing W2A first
But dear god please any other super deluxe other than D&P
I wonder how much Legacy records deal affected the way how they planned on distributing these albums
The Time’s self titled debut was remastered and re-released as a deluxe edition

this
Morris Day’s Debut is really good lol, some nice synth funk all round

Doesn’t have that impeccable 1980’s Prince production but it’s great nonetheless
P was so coked out during this era
Post to video thumbnail correlation off the charts
P was so coked out during this era
Favourite era of mine regardless.

He always made music for the ladies or for a particular person. Also when he sung in the uppers and falsetto, he stated he wanted it to sound similar to a woman because he preferred women singing over men and the baritone/tenor.
And I wonder if that's a Cameo, James Brown influence as well

He did a really good balancing act with everhthing that surprisingly got him accepted by "everybody".
Crazy how he was also able to pull off "artsy" or serious songs/concepts while still being able to produce entertaining & "fun" music. Even dedicating entire albums to one or the other side & making it work & still seem sincere.
Complicated man that made a lot seem effortless.
always loved this track, let's see how the rest of the album holds up
“Can’t Stop This Feeling I Got;” “The Question of U;” “Elephants & Flowers;” “We Can Funk;” “Joy in Repetition;” “Tick, Tick, Bang;” “Thieves in the Temple;” and “Still Would Stand All Time” are the highlights in my opinion.

It's all great except for the protege's. The Love Machine track- I'm not really cool on that, The Time-Shake I don't really like that.
The latest fashion
The Mavis track..
this was the first & last soundtrack he incorporated other's like this as the main artist.
This album has all of this on it though.
Still would Stand all time/Joy in Repetition/We Can Funk/Thieves/Question of U/Latest Fashion/Elephants and Flowers/NPG/
It's funny how little harmonica prince put In his music. There's Thieves in the Temple and then there is a song off "The Truth" lp. BUT he would put a harmonica player in his band in the last years of his life he was touring. He must have liked it more than a little bit.
He obviously didn't like to play it that much. I'd like to know what other track's he played using harmonica.
I can't knock an album that has Mavis, George, The Time all on different song's.
@op any other songs with this vibe?
!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PvWMR3fNL_gUnique song in his discog tbh, in terms of lyrical content and vibe. Def one of the best tracks on emancipation
Only song I can think of that’s similar rn is Pop Life or Strollin’

I’d even say Crucial, but I’m less sure about that one
