so i'm getting back into running tomorrow morning and was wondering if anyone has any good dynamic stretching routines before the run and static stretching afterwards?
also, can u use the nrc app for treadmills?
I don't do any static stretching at all but if I'm doing any kind of fast running at all I'll jog for 5-10m first and then do leg swings, high knees, strides, arm circles to make sure I have full range of motion while running
Idk about nrc specifically but you can definitely do running distance with a smartwatch. I'm not sure about phone but I don't think so bc your phone only has pedometer and gps data without a watch
any tips for improving pace. I am not a talented runner but I am committed lol
did the half marathon last year and run 5km/10km around my block when the weather is good. My time is always really bad tho. Is it as simple as just run faster or are there any tips to build it up?

Personally ya I just try to push myself to beat a certain time.
You're not gonna improve unless you push yourself, just make sure your feeling the "right" kind of pain and going about it in a smart way so you don't injure yourself
you could always run more at the same pace or run faster for a shorter distance
mainly tho its just consistency

Insane
Trying to run at least 10 miles per week. Slowly ramping back after being out over a month
I was doing good in zone 2 but I stopped midway through to buy groceries and my heart rate went up cause of the extra weight

yea consistency is key for building your aerobic base, if you have the time though doing most of ur mileage at slow/very slow pace is good though cause it lets you recover faster and do more weekly mileage
did anyone watch the london marathon? the last few minutes of the womens race was fcking insane
yall ever go through a period of cooked ass legs? I took 3 days off and my legs and feet still feel destroyed

yeah I was feeling really sore in my calves the 3-4 days before my race, the kind where you can't just run through it slower but you actually have to take a few days off
in general i try to run every day but if my legs are beat i'll drop it down to like 12/13+ min/mi pace
you doing speed workouts?

Yeah thatâs where Iâm at. My calves wouldnât let me
Well I took a month and a half off due to injury. Came back two weeks ago and wasnât really taking break. Ramped up too quick I think
Nah not speed runs or anything just simple 1-3 mile runs

Yea I hear you ramping back up is ass cause you're just prolonging the injury when you do it too quick but if u do it too slow it feels like ur atrophying slowly
