    Not necessarily

Maybe 300 is a little too low though, as long as it's cheaper than PS5

Don’t get me wrong I would like a $300 next gen system but when I’m paying a lot of money for an entertainment hub that should last you a 6-7 year lifespan I don’t mind paying 4-500. Sony has been tryna get in every home as more than just a gaming system since the PS3. I just don’t think a $300 system would hold up an entire lifespan with what all they want you to be able to do. Games, Video, pics, music, etc... Nintendo gets away with it because its half way a handheld. I wouldn’t be surprised if switches were junk Soon.

A $300 system will have a worse failure rate than the 360 which was something like 55% lol

How did you even come to that conclusion

This logic is flawed because the MSRP doesn’t determine the actual cost of building the system

You’re responding to me backwards. It’s not rocket science. If a system is $300 — how much do you think it cost them to make it? That goes right back to quality.

The PS3 cost Sony $850 per unit to make. Hence why it was price at $600 at launch. The upgrades, specifically blu ray is what made it so expensive. They still were losing tons on each unit. At $600 at the time of launch is was the cheapest way to even have a blu ray.

So now that we’ve established that is COSTS money to make systems and tech advancements with them. It’s pretty straight forward as to how that effects the MSRP. Personally I don’t want a $300 system, phone, TV, etc...because in 2020 I highly doubt it would meet my personal technological needs.

Bro are you slow or what?

    In terms you can understand.

You pay for what you get. Take your car to a dirt cheap mechanic. It’ll fail sooner than if you spent the money to actually get quality work done.

I’ll pay $250-$300 for a handheld but these days I couldn’t imagine a home console in that price range to be durable or do all the things I want it to do.

You’re comparing everyday services to mass technology sales those things are not mutual

Well, You didn’t seem to understand the relation between cost/quality.

You almost acted like it was unrelated but carry on...

By your logic and example the 300box would cost 550 to manufacture so MSRP doesn’t determine the cost to build the box

300 could work if theyre clear that it ain't gonna be playing any next gen games at 1080p/30

1080p / 30fps can be done for that price tag its a desktop cpu its not a mobile part, it will clearly be sold at a loss in hopes of getting ppl into that ecosystem

Well yeah, it would work for some people. There is an audience for something like that but for me personally I wouldn’t be interested.

Ok that’s fine but 300 dollars doesn’t determine if the box will be bad its not going to be the premium box that was never the point

Ok that’s fine but 300 dollars doesn’t determine if the box will be bad its not going to be the premium box that was never the point

NO. The point I was making is that I don’t want it if its not a premium system lmao because it’ll have a high(er) failure rate. Which was a joke making fun of the 360z

I never said the price determined the quality. I said the quality determined the price. So if its a 300 system then know what you’re getting.

It’s priced at $300 for a reason. Period.

Systems have different prices for a reason. Idk what about this you can’t grasp but i’m letting it go bro lol

Yeah but makes the cheaper version of the xbox useless for the first 2 years. no point in upgrading until they stop supporting it.
