They prolly nit gonna be able to pull of the fight scenes tho that's what I'm worried about
This doesn’t look good. This doesn’t look good at all.
These actors seem to be honest and really passionate about this project. But everything else seems just tacky to me.
This is supposed to be a crazy universe with some complex lore. You need to make it seem real. Give it texture. I wanna see dust, sweat, blood. We’re talking about f***ing pirates. I wanna feel the weight of the waves crashing down as sea monsters emerge. It needs to look rough and dangerous.
But once again, Netflix gives us muddy color grading, s***ty weaves and mediocre CGI. This s*** is shot and edited like a cut scene from a video game. It looks ugly. It looks flat. It doesn’t feel unique. It lacks ambition.
For f***’s sake we’re talking about One Piece! You can’t adapt Oda’s masterpiece with such a lack of ambition. It’s a f***ing disgrace.
Oda is a huge Terry Gilliam fan. They should have taken inspiration from his movies. It’s an obvious choice.
Look I know it’s supposed to be a trailer. I know I’m supposed to watch the show to form a valid opinion. But holy f***, the more I watch this trailer the worse it gets…
And I know, I just know that the showrunners don’t understand One Piece. I know that they don’t see its communistic subtext. They think it appeals to their liberal sensibilities. They think Luffy is AOC and that Kamala Harris would be a D if she was a character in the manga. That’s probably the worst thing about this whole situation.
Anime just does not translate to live action, idk how long it will take for studios to realize this
Right do some s*** like a rom com or something instead of DBZ and one piece where niggas have literally the most absurd stuff happening
Even among manga that would be nearly impossible to adapt, One Piece stands out as the MOST impossible.
One Piece could translate to live action. But the showrunners are just incompetent hacks. And the fact that Oda had to step in and get involved is used as a marketing ploy but it’s not a reassuring sign. It wouldn’t have been necessary if these guys actually understood what this manga is all about.

This the most headass post I’ve seen in the year of our lord 2023
lmao I don’t even think this looks super good or anything, just ‘okay’ to clarify. But sheesh communistic subtext and luffy is aoc to the showrunners like dear lord go for a walk my brother
I just fundamentally am opposed to this on every possibly level. Like visually it looks the best you could possibly get this material in this format, but it’s just an inherently broken idea. Support art. Not glorified commercials for better art. Stuff like this bums me out cause I feel bad for the cast and crew who actually give a s***, but I just can’t in good conscious support this kind of crap. It’ll probably be somewhat better than previous attempts at anime adaptions, but even if it was “great” it still sucks conceptually.

Mfs can’t move like the toons do

Go try that “touch some grass” s*** on Discord, it’d probably work with some of your mentally challenged friends. People like you are fundamentally empty inside and are always perplexed whenever they encounter someone who cares deeply about something.
Don’t try to s*** on people who engage seriously with a work of art. People like you consume art just like they consume p***ography.

I didn’t tell you to touch grass I told you to go cool off so I know damn well you’re not trying to put me in a box with that level of reading comprehension

“Akshually, I wasn’t telling you to touch grass I was even more patronizing and passive aggressive than that”
Yeah, f*** off.

I’m promoting mental and physical health and I’m gonna double down and encourage you to take that walk
I’m just not a fan of them taking the costumes/looks from the manga directly, at least change it a little to look a little more realistic, like nami looks awful translated to live action
And the cg on that gum gum pistol 🤢🤢
I’ll stay hopeful but one piece is one of the last anime’s I expect to translate well to live action
Why does he have a lisp?
This is the MAIN character and I could not stand his voice for even this trailer.. My expectations were low, but this is bad.. And that CGI on the punch....
It looks like the cowboy bebop live action lmao
Awful lighting and cg
That’s exactly what I thought too looks so cheap feel bad for anyone using this as their first experience of one piece but hopefully it gets more people to get into this masterpiece
This doesn't look that bad honestly. What are yall b****ing about
Dude wanted communistic subtext to be pushed harder
Anime just does not translate to live action, idk how long it will take for studios to realize this
I thought Alita: Battle Angel was by far the best anime adaptation I have seen.
But, I haven't watched a lot to be honest. The ones I have tried from Japan are simply horrendous. But I bet some dramas or rom coms are good.
