I think Kendrick expected people to hold the cheating and cancel culture bars against him/for there to be more outrage. For people to stop looking for his voice and opinions on social issues because he made an album showing the world how flawed he is. The Jesus imagery makes a lot more sense if you think of it this way, Kendrick probably expected to be "crucified" for the things he said on the album

Lyrics on Savior and Mirror point towards Kendrick feeling like he won't be in that position anymore, but I don't think this will happen

The entire “I grieve different” is meant to be taken tongue and cheek. It’s meant to be self centred sounding. That’s the point. It sets up the end when he says “everybody grieves different”… that moment dismantles the idea that he’s somehow special because he thinks he grieves in unique ways when he doesn’t. The subtext of the entire song is that blaming your actions on you “grieving different” is lacking in accountability. That’s the point.
