Lmaooooo I like his music but I can see that
he has one of them voices thts just not for me
Open Mike Eagle grew up like a lot of rappers usually do but he went to a relatively nice high school and went to college which I think are the formative years for why a lot of rappers have the attitude towards women that they have.
Yeah there is definitely truth that women love hearing that s*** too considering the biggest female rappers atm literally are the ones saying b**** the most and basically promoting that misogynistic side in rap culture. But in terms of its origination in rap and why it still remains such a pivotal talking point, I think it is just that nature of someone who came from nothing and was looked at as s***, to all of a sudden have money and women completely changing their stance on you. That s*** definitely encourages that kind of talking point.
Women know deep down they are b****es
Only logical conclusion there is to me
Biggest hoes on Earth are men
he has one of them voices thts just not for me
I hear you, it definitely took me a bit of getting used to as well
Why do people keep asking this question when rappers literally deal with hoes wanting them for one thing
He's right. As much as I love and respect women, I also can't help but catch the holy ghost to songs like Pimps by 8 Ball & MJG or Kurupt's verse on XXplosive reciting each lyric with as much emotion as the artists.
It's strange, because while I know it's wrong and I'll never say nor treat women in such a manner, I don't even agree with the lyrics and the themes within these kinda songs. But in a weird sense, it feels good.
But then comes the conundrum where women also love and sing along to these tracks and misogynistic rappers. So it's like...we are all aware that it's demeaning to women and f***ed up. But we, both male and female still celebrate to music like that.
I guess the case can be made that "It's just music" however we see the music spill into real life attitudes frequently as well. And it can't "just be music", these views and concepts have to come from a place of experience or a place of anger.
With all this being said, I do wish that hip-hop would stop being the poster child of misogyny. It's complete bullshit. Metal, rock, country all have glaring issues with misogyny. I feel like it gets thrown on hip-hop more as a means to vilify it as it is black art/culture.
It's all power fantasy. End of the day. Men like having power, men like to flex examples of having power. Whether that be stealing women from other men, f***ing the most women, or just treating women bad. When male artists make their music, more often than not, you will hear them degrade women in one manner or another. It's a means to show dominance and reinforce that dominance.

He grew up in the projects till he was 13. Then he went to a magnet school in the west side and went to college. My point is he didn't end up really being in an environment that made him think of women in such a way because he wasn't at that age.
Why is misogyny such a hot topic when it comes to rap,but not other genres or the industry at large. Or Hollywood movies and film. Why can every other entities masculinity can be hidden behind the art tag,but not hiphop? Can a black dominated genre be incapable of making art? Something doesn't feel right about the constant critiques. Ed Sheeran's catalogue is full of misogyny, but you never see the think pieces.
U kno why
I respect him for his art, but he’s definitely the type of artist that Rap Critic heralds as a goat.
" He sees too much, and remains all too aware of our human foibles and limitations. He’s too self-aware and self-effacing to ever admit it, but he is one of the most important figures of the last decade of rap. "
these cacs are trying to tell us a nigga whose whole fanbase is on reddit is an important figure in rap
