Would also love to see a 3D platformer based in an open world design. Havent had one at all yet. Closes are the Banjo, Jak n Yooka games + Bowsers Fury.

Mario or Sly Cooper seem "easy" to do in that style.

Sonic Frontiers might scratch this itch maybe..I'm hella hyped for that. S*** better deliver man

Kinda unrelated but I want a theme park simulator where you can actually walk around the parks and ride the rides

well in Planet Coaster you can ride the rides. It's been a feature since Roller Coaster Tycoon 3. Now walking around I don't think it's really a thing but streamers of the game just play with the camera to sort of move through your map in first person.

-Pokemon with more realistic graphics and thick forests and interesting landscapes and buildings.
(basically ghost of tsushima with pokemon and more modern)

-a tony hawk game that you can drive cars in to get to skate spots/ competitions/ etc... and also includes bmx bikes (I miss dave mirra so much)

-Simpsons with entire springfield and explorable buildings

-Uncharted where you can choose which areas to explore and those choices can lead you to different areas and treasures.

-Lego dimensions style game without the physical figures and stuff

-God of War in a more open world style of game (like elder scrolls but with kratos)

-Need for Speed Underground but a bigger more open world (could even have like 3 smaller worlds in different countries for variety)

one of my favourite games OAT, would kill for a mirrors edge game in the world/style of cyberpunk 2077. imagine the minimalist designs of the future, with the clean white/black buildings & interior furniture and the brightly coloured accents.

indreible designs indeed, also the soundtrack is incredible, Catalyst felt disappointing claiming it's open world..
they could milk this idea so much they could literally have DLCs for real-life locations like Paris or Barcelona or Japan idk

ive thought of this game many times, where you can go between street level and rooftops (similar to dying light 2), and you can blend into crowds like assassins creed.

K-Sec is the dominating police force, so you could stroll through the streets potntially being seen and starting a chase or go through the alleys and to the rooftops.

i love the DLC idea, have it set in a near future (2200?) and go wild designing these famous cities in the future

Really hope that game delivers man

  • Ooh I forgot about Wakanda. Wish Insomniac would tackle a full fledged open world Black Panthee game with a stunning Wakanda open space.

Hell dont even gotta be Insomniac. Whoever could do it the best need to handle that

  • Mar 30, 2022

Idk I feel like the open world formula is getting played out.

Most important thing is the lore building and making the universe feel lived in.
