dude actually seriously said he wants “Ghosts of Tsushima but with Pokémon and more modern”

  • Mar 30, 2022

    Bladerunner

    Water Giver

Imagine Metroid with a whole open world or multiple open world planets

    Or Mass Effect

    Or modern day KOTOR

I think open world Metroid is almost an oxymoron

Reading the Dune books right now and it definitely would be an amazing overworld to explore and conquer. Head fills with ideas.

An age spanning LOTR game where you play an Istari that can either assist Middle Earth against the dark forces like Gandalf did or try and seize power for yourself like Sarumon kind of like New Vegas how you go around either helping all the factions or destroying them and turning them against each other. Or any variation in between you feel like doing.

I’m so done with open worlds where 90% of it is just varying textures of hills and landscapes tbh.

  • Seeing Tokyo done justice would be crazy, there would be so many neighborhoods to explore that all feel so distinct. The fact that all the areas in Persona 5 were accessed by fast travel was probably my least fav part of the game tbh

this thread gonna get ac open worlds where it's s*** and has shallow content

ngl i've been sick of most open world games cause open world seems to be a cop out for when these games have nothing else to offer

-Pokemon with more realistic graphics and thick forests and interesting landscapes and buildings.
(basically ghost of tsushima with pokemon and more modern)

-a tony hawk game that you can drive cars in to get to skate spots/ competitions/ etc... and also includes bmx bikes (I miss dave mirra so much)

-Simpsons with entire springfield and explorable buildings

-Uncharted where you can choose which areas to explore and those choices can lead you to different areas and treasures.

-Lego dimensions style game without the physical figures and stuff

-God of War in a more open world style of game (like elder scrolls but with kratos)

-Need for Speed Underground but a bigger more open world (could even have like 3 smaller worlds in different countries for variety)

this is essentially how these game devs think based on how action/adventure games have changed

Free roam Atlanta would be too goat

Persona but being able to walk the block would be crazy. Yakuza is absolutely fantastic, but it's definitely smaller and more densely packed with s***

Or Iceland, but I think death stranding was heavily influenced by that landscape

This is why there are so few classics in the genre

There was too much of that in BOTW but I don't think Skyrim or Elden Ring are guilty

Max Payne 3 was completely inaccurate, offensive and xenophobic. And with a bit of racism too.

São Paulo, one of the biggest and most cosmopolitan cities in the world, looks absolutely nothing like that. They didn't even try or care. They probably doesn't even know what São Paulo looks like. They justed built some uncivilized undeveloped violent slum to portray the 4th biggest city in the world.

These companies and studios from the US and other "developed" countries always doing s*** like this when they want to show other regions of the world, starting with the infamous "dirty" filter they use in the Middle East, Mexico and other countries.
