I think it creates negative power structures but that goes for most large communities. However i've seen it do good for people who are lost in life and have no direction. Organised religion also provides people an avenue to deal with death if they aren't ready for it, whether they're dying or witnessing someone else go.

I'm sure being chaste and refraining from intoxicants is bad for the soul.

This year I think I finally admitted I aint following my religion anymore. I guess I believe some higher power exists but I aint really following religious laws.

yes, when people survey religions you often have the option to pick that you're non religious or atheist so when the results show up it will say it is the fastest growing religion. obviously we know it's not an actual religion but thats just semantics

I have absolutely no need for religion in my life, and I'm a perfectly balanced, optimistic and idealistic person. So, I don't think these generalizations are very fair.
