Idk some professors are actually s*** at their job and really don't care to be there. My professor for one of most important business courses was switching careers after the semester and basically just played videos every day and called class any time it rained/snowed
90% of your success from college are internships and networking
Last part I definitely agree with, I mean it's ultimately up to students to make the most of college
One thing that's super interesting to me, this YouTuber said that his rule of thumb when predicting future trends is to look at the past trends because of something has been true for 95% of the time it will probably continue to be relevant
In the vast majority of human history, successful kingdoms had vast quantities of slaves, when we think about modern life the idea of becoming rich is like the idea of moving up the social/political class in an archaic society. It's extremely rare and most people are born into wealth, just like how people are born into nobility in past civilizations.
My point is we should acknowledge that for most of human history most people were poor and that hasn't changed and probably won't anytime soon
Isn’t it still relatively easy with something entry level like web dev without a cs degree?
By simply having a strong portfolio of projects and ability to prove that you know how to solve problems through coding
prob depends on area but in mine (DMV) no
majority of people I’ve seen making it as a SWE without a bachelors were in the military
thankfully CS/IT degrees are cheap
I'm Gen Z with no college but I earn 8k month in IT
Gen Z problem might be social media that f***ed their brains up tbh thats why they are living paycheck to paycheck instead of learning and developing skills they sit in their bed watching tiktok

College just teach you the basics man you always have to think outside the box and learn by yourself, always you need to crave more knowledge. If you stay laid back and say college will get me a job than you re f***ed.
Didn't even go to IT college, attented Topography and Cartography College and dropped out in the last year to get a job that was paying pennies IT Tech Support just to get xp in the IT domain.
Learned everything by myslef got certs, and changed jobs thats it.
You have to put work in it.
I'm f***ing s*** at math ain't gonna lie but I know mfs doing Computer Science College and I program 10x better than them
what are business degrees worth for the job market? seems like that’s a common major
Economics and Finance
Nah this isn’t true, there’s still a chunk of people in CS at least without a degree. You gotta be legit a gifted programmer to make it that way tho
Yea maybe there's exemptions in cs but if ur in biology physics engineering etc u defo went to undergrad at least
used to think college was a scam but just having an associates opens doors
Lie
Gen z is way too internet savvy to have this mentality. They can’t rely on the same old excuses by millennials and such talking about they didn’t know any better
They have too much information and too many resources at their disposal to not know about how many affordable degree options there are. You do not have to go to NYU for your useless literature degree.
They’re not internet savvy
Blaming the kids for the s*** economy
I didn’t say a single thing about the economy bro what are you on about
I didn’t say a single thing about the economy bro what are you on about
That’s his point
I didn’t say a single thing about the economy bro what are you on about
U said that kids should not have as much of an issue finding jobs or careers because of these "affordable alternatives" to degrees which tbh idk what those are. Like if the job market is trash that's what it is aint rly no secret sauce that people are just ignorant to
I'm an ivy league grad and a neet rn, fucc college man
My money's on Cornell
Correct?
