Parents were just conservative. The greatest crime of all

Just read about the parents. Can’t describe how enraged I am at them and how much I wish someone had sterilized them at a young age.

Parents like that that don’t have any desire to take responsibility parenting are one of the biggest problems in our society today.

“Duhhhh he wrote a deranged note? Duhhhh Just send him back to class, we ain’t gonna take him”

The parents seem like s***heads for sure and are definitely partially responsible, but I also don’t know wtf the school administration was thinking how you gonna just let that boy go back to class

Hopefully this helps to set the standard at schools from here on out that if there’s a mental health problem like this, it’s a requirement to send the student home

didnt they buy him the gun? they probably didnt give a f*** about him locking it up they just said keep it clean and fill it with hollow points

Come to think of it again in regards to my previous reply, they legally wouldn’t have had means to send him home unless they suspended him

That being said, they should have certainly made him talk to one of the schools counselors/psychologists/therapists all day instead of going back to class. This is the perfect argument for why schools need wayyyyyy more funding for psychs/therapists. I work at a school, and can tell y’all, there’s no where NEAR enough resources for these crucial jobs

Can they not get charged for running away?

We can’t simply throw money at these things too, there’s deep-rooted problems in this country that require massive legislative change

I mean like usually they aren't great people in other areas, but I feel like they can still definitely be good parents like as in taking care of their kids but not like setting a good example probably

I’m sure there are conservatives who are nice and polite and cooperative or whatever

But being a conservative in America means that you support a movement that is explicitly and unequivocally opposed to any sort of change with how the country operates in its current form

And even supporting that movement, let alone participating in it, is such a big red flag regarding the privilege you enjoy and/or the sheer cognitive dissonance you have regarding your world view

These are parents that will place the worldview of sexism, of “there is no racism,” of “healthcare is bad,” of “mental health isn’t real,” of at least one of these views if not all.

Caring for your kids goes so far beyond putting clothes on their back and feeding them and keeping them from shooting up a f***ing school.

like no they are usually not nice people, and might end up like influencing their kids to feel ways about things that is not great

but like I strictly meant they can be good parents in like the responsible sense of that I guess

Wouldn’t teaching and influencing your children to believe in something damaging and regressive not be responsible parenting though?
