Nobody I went with liked this but me
These girls did not f*** with the psychological aspect of this at all. They just wanted some upfront dumbass jump scares.
Unfortunately that’s what most general audiences want from horror movies.
If a horror film doesn’t have a bunch of jump scares, people will usually say “man that s*** wasn’t even scary”
Psychological horror is wayyyy better imo though. I don’t need jump scares , I want the movie to get under my skin
what exactly was Longlegs end goal Why was he giving the FBI clues? Did he want to get caught? If so, why? What wouldve happened if the triangle got completed
also I saw a review saying there's no way Harker's character would've passed the test to become an FBI agent and I have to agree. Good intuition or not she had terrible people skills and her mental health was questionable at best

This
Jump scares are predictable and easy. I want to be genuinely freaked out

yeah but she was a savant, she didnt just have good intuition it was like phenomenally good, so it makes sense as a movie trope

I always get mindblown when a slightly “artsy” movie makes its way in front of mainstream audiences, and the average moviegoer just can’t connect with it in any way.
I remember taking a couple friends to see Everything Everywhere All At Once, and they both walked out of the theater like “that was the worst movie ever I don’t get it.” They couldn’t articulate any critiques, the movie just simply didn’t compute for them. Had a similar experience taking a friend to see The Northman.
I just can’t picture sitting through a 2 hour movie and walking out having taken absolutely nothing from it, but I guess we all just take in art differently lol.

Call them what they are; basic mfs

And it’s always them that are the loudest it seems in shaping the public thought of a movie
The photograph jump scare got me good lol
The pre title card scare got me. I had to lock in after that
The plan: increase sales of Dale’s dolls by telling potential customers that they’ve been randomly given a free one on behalf of their local church

I didn’t know anything about this movie going into it. I was expecting something along The Silence of the Lambs. I didn’t expect all of the religious horror/supernatural elements. I liked this a lot. I have a feeling it will get better with rewatches. It feels like one of those movies that you can pick apart frame by frame.

No jump scares? I'm in
