The supernatural s\*\*\* at the beginning with Maika was something I wasn’t expecting but it kinda went nowhere? The explanation kinda ruined it even if it makes sense in the narrative and it’s such a specific plot inclusion to not do *more* with
Idk maybe I’ll like it more on rewatch. My crowd was kinda annoying and distracted me from being fully engaged tbf
The supernatural element of this was good, but the twist was so f\*\*\*ing obvious
Movie was in desperate need of an epilogue
how do you explain to the fbi that Satan made these people kill each other?
was not planning on seeing this but u might've just changed my mind lmfao that sounds so hard
it wasnt good even in an ironic way its not a funny cartoon clip art it was like someone googled “devil png transparent background “
all the people that said this was like Alan wake 2 must have seen a fbi jacket and some photos on a wooden wall and left the theatre
I got real life click baited

This.
I'm starting to think these recent movies (horror or otherwise) get so much buzz because it's mainly people who aren't true kino-lovers

if this movie was shot like the conjuring it would have came and went
coasting entirely on how well shot it is, people who loving using a24 as a buzzword and notice that one thing looks like another thing that they enjoyed are having the time of their lives while the rest of us have to watch another film where the bad guy is a creepy doll bored to death

Yeah for real. This movie was shot amazingly but when everything else is so hollow, it makes you realize they're just ticking off stuff that LOOKS cool but holds no real weight in the narrative or anything. I think the psychic evaluation was kinda when i realized they were just putting s*** on screen
And like you said. The devil png
To see Nick go from performances like Mandy to this really hurt, this felt like one of those Joker cosplay videos

theyre letting crackheads into movie theatres now
just the poster of bob is scarier than this whole movie
This was soooo disappointing. The marketing fooled me.
The blackcoats daughter was wayyyy better

set up for the next movie where she gets thrown into an insane asylum
Little nitpick but I hate when movies have jumpscares that aren't linked with the rhythm of what you're watching on screen. Character sulking down the hallway and someone pops out a corner? Cool. But you're looking at photos and the movie just turns the volume up and double dips to a previous scare moment? Cheap. As f***
The movie should’ve used disco instead of glam rock tbh. Way more f***ing disco. Just make it all disco s***

Quiet Place Day One had one that drove me insane lol. Worst jump scare of the year
People hating on this banger?

I bet, can't even fix my face and go see that s*** smh. Thats another installment of the "overhyped horror that's really a thriller" franchise imo

Another movie that had a good idea and bored me to death. By the guy who wrote/directed Pig starring Nic Cage actually. Full circle

And this weekend we got twister 2 by the minari dude
hoping the execs didn't bully him too hard
This longlegs s*** is the first time I've ever seen Nick Cage in that light. Corny. Mandy is one of my favorite movies ever, and what a fantastic performance, obv on top of raising Arizona, wild at heart, etc. he's proven time and time again that he dives deep, maybe a lil crazily, and comes back up with something authentic. Every time, point blank period. This though? What the f***....is pretentious the right word? Like the movie did everything it possibly could to deflate him/how threatening he was...on top of the performance being Tumblr audition-core. On top of everything, imo making him not even be the killer was the ultimate misstep. He's literally just the messenger. This is between the giant baphomet PNG and Donna Haywards little sister. Why would you deflate your whole narrative like that in the 3rd act. I just don't get it, I really don't. And don't get how people are falling head over heels for this. Is it really just a "you need to see more movies" situation?
