Fanart is absolutely NOT selling more of the IP. You can buy official art of Pokemon. Fanart is actively taking money from Pokemon. There is no difference.

Fair Use law exists for a reason. That's why Scary Movie, Epic Movie, and other s*** doesn't get sued to oblivion. That's why Joseph Joestar can look identical to the nigga from Fist of the North Star and not get sued. That's why South Park can do what they do and not get sued. As long as you don't steal assets (not remake assets, literally use the same assets that they used in their games), call it the same name, or pretend to be it... you're pretty much good lol.

Idk if its your type of thing in this kind of genre but I find it really interesting & surprised there hasnt been a bigger push earlier on main consoles - game doesnt look good imo buts its success is undeniable
Outside of the ones from the literal time of Pokemons inception most of the other attempts were on 3ds, especially in the last 10 years
And its probably going down as one of the most successful games ever - def at least on steam which i didnt see coming AND theyre a Indie/Double A studio
Always been a missed niche that Gamefreak has been lazily coasting on for multiple years now its wild
From the way these PALS are, I like how they're not useless. I felt Pokemons aside from attacking weren't really that active and felt useless. The character designs are pretty cool, cutesy. This one and DokeV might be the only ones to have nailed this aspect imo plus they both had the uniqueness factor to booth. Gameplay wise, there's an influence of EA's Spore in terms of the crossbreeding and legacy s***. There was a game that had this style in terms of action but I forgot it's name. It seems cool and it's dope that it's on Steam. However, despite my praise for it, I don't feel enticed to play it but I dive more into it tho
