He’d have a SB budget, it’ll definitely be different

superbowl performers typically perform years after their music career is basically over, and their hits are set in stone as generational classics for the audience of the superbowl so like 21-50 years old

and considering drake refuses to stop touring and making new music, we aint seeing a SB performance from him in bare time

similar to taylor swift as well

2023 rihana - retired from music for years/past her prime (her peaked being late 2000's/early 2010's), her last tour was in 2016 lol.....

Bruno Mars - legit a few hits, no longevity to his career at all, superbowl was his last form of relevancy

Beyonce - debuted in a group in the 90's peaked in the 2000's, was already declining sales wise in the early 2010's before she did the superbowl in 2014, and as you can see her relevance in music only declinded since she did the superbowl

the weeknd - this ones iffy, personally I say his ability to make a #1 hit has fallen since his peak in the early to mid 2010's (where all his generaitonal hits came from), but i also understand that he still tours and makes hits here and there so ill give you that one

as you can see its generally a trend, look at superbowl performers in the 2000's, a lot of rock bands from the 80's and 90's performing in the 2000's as their last "hoorah", its always been the case

typically its hard to rehearse and set aside months of planning for the performance when youre still an active artist, you also have to remember they do not get paid either, so for someone like drake/Taylor swift who can sell out his tour at any time, get millions of sales at any time, it makes 0 sense to do a superbowl performance from a financial aspect imo

maybe im wrong though but this is how i see it

& the idea of doing the unpaid superbowl performance is to promote yourself

top artists outside of their prime dont really need this, they would greatly benefit 100x more when outside their prime. taylor is already doing 1.5 mill first week sales with lack of promo, she doesnt need more promo to sell her shows. drake hardly promotes himself as well and he’s always on top

also some halftime performers have been paying millions for better production for their performance

Bruno Mars performed in 2014 one year before Uptown Funk (2x Diamond), 3 years before 24K Magic (album with 3 smash hits eligible for Diamond certification), 7 years before Leave The Door Open/Silk Sonic, 9 years before his stadium tour 💀 “superbowl was his last form of relevancy” “no longevity” 💀

the rest of post kept getting worse

The Weeknd just had some of the biggest hits ever and is currently on a stadium tour. An actual real popstar.

Beyoncé is currently set to have her biggest debut ever next week, had a successful era 25 years into her career, just finished one of the biggest tours ever

If anything, Drake is the one that is 5 years past his peak now.

Why are KTT users so delusional? It’s like you guys live in a different universe when it comes to discussing non-rappers

Regarding Drake, he’s not a performer, lacks showmanship for a stage like this, and a lot of his hits are not big enough with the general audience (the Super Bowl is watched by +100M people).

    You’re the delusional one lmao.
Weeknd couldn’t even crack 200k on his last album
Drake could go on a stadium tour right now and move tickets with ease
