Have your vet declaw them so they don’t f*** up your furniture
yikes.
if this is what you need to do to control your cat, please do not adopt a cat to begin with.
real solution is to adopt 2 kittens and raise them as a bonded pair. that lack of companionship is like half the reason people have cats who are overly clingy or destructive + always on edge.
that + a chill neighbor who you trust with leaving them a tin of wet food once a day is the key.
other than that get an automatic feeder for the dry food + a water fountain. most cats only drink fresh water and eat fresh food, so you can't leave full bowls around and hope that they'll eat that s***.
also instead of being a f***ing monster and declawing them, you get them used to regular nail clippings as kittens + train them to use cat towers and scratching posts from early on.
give them a specific place to do that s***.
My gf has 2 cats, they can be super clingy when they wanna be but I feel like unlike dogs they tend to f*** off. Just don't declaw them that's what makes them a******s cause they have no defense mechanism, it's also painful.
Just make sure you keep them stimulated like a cat doesn't like to just eat food and drink water, they wanna earn it
I prefer cats to dogs as they can be more random and curious, just make sure you either make your cat an inside cat or an outside cat they can't be both and if an inside cat gets out it'll be hard for them to get home. Like you can't leave a cat alone for too long, also make sure you get a good litter system, i think the filtering ones are great
Also outside cats eat birds
The first picture is interesting, wasn’t aware these existed. Need to get one for my cat
travelling for weeks at a time? sounds like a neglected animal to me.
right like why even get a pet at that point
cats are zero burden bro i be forgetting they’re even there until i see them walk past me
Cats don’t believe in God so they have no place in my house
Hmmm I thought God loves all his creations :elon:
Similar to the dog thread, but I want a cat.
I travel A LOT, I'm usually back and forth between LA and DC. I know Cats aren't as demanding as dogs, but how is it traveling with a Cat at home.
I travel for weeks at a time*
When I moved to the UK, I took mine with me. She had to go in the kennel and I was worried but everything was fine. Same thing moving back to Canada. She's older now though (13), so I'll only fly with an airline that doesn't mind me having her in the cabin with me.
They ARE more convenient to take care of than dogs as they are much more independent. I love dogs too btw but at the time, when I got Sama, I def wouldn't have been able to afford a dog.
If you are going to travel a lot, Id suggest either take the cat with you if you can find animal friendly hotels and/or AirBnB or leave kitty with someone you really trust.
They're like babies. They'll cry waking you up at god awful early hrs to eat but man they are worth it. ❤
If you want any tips or questions, feel free to reach out to me.
