Whatever you do do not get a single kitten
It will not be socialized and have lots of behavioral issues if you are never there to socialize with it

Ask someone to come over to give it wet food for sure—it’s better for cats as it helps hydrate them and most cats are kinda bad abt water intake. Ask them to change the water while they’re at it—I have one of those fountain waters w the filter and I change it probably every two weeks

At the end of the day I do not think you should get a cat if you plan on being away that regularly for so long for a variety of reasons, but most importantly,
Cats can really deteriorate in health really rapidly and need to go to the emergency vet and stuff. If you’re not around the cats gonna die

You will probably end up with a cat you don’t get along with and then wonder what’s wrong with the cat when it was a problem with your treatment of it, to be quite frank

it's improved my life if anything. in terms of travel tho, it's tricky. i haven't been on a proper family trip since i got my cat because he is a bit needy and requires constant attention. there needs to be at least one person at home if we're gonna be gone overnight
