  • ngl, I think...the exposition they used with the Shinjiro side quest and just making the homies optional hang out moments...I think I may almost prefer it to having to do SLs with the guys lol

    Probably only saying this bc Im playing P3R though. Like the social links are incredible in P5R and I'm just prob prisoner of the momenting lol

    Just finished P5 Royal. Incredible how much content is in this game. In a truly objective sense, itā€™s the magnum opus owing to the gameplay quality, the level of effort in each dungeon and villains, and the general ability to traverse everywhere in Tokyo. The game had the longest development cycle and the strengths and weaknesses of its predecessors, and it used those to perfection.

    That being said, I actually still think my favourite is actually Persona 4. I think the setting is perfect -- the lonely, ethereal-like atmosphere of the provincial village, with a simple overarching plot that still dips into the esoteric is perfect. Super Twin Peaks like, and I love it.

    Also think P4 does the best job of making the main cast feel like a real group of friends. It has the most awkward social gatherings, in contrast to P3 which just feels like a group of student mercenaries fighting evil, whilst P5 creates this debonair group who feel a little rushed after Makotoā€™s introduction. I feel like the game suffers a little bit with so many characters needing screentime.

    If I had to simplify the three and state whatā€™s best about each, I would say something like:

    Persona 5: Best dungeons, generally does everything at a decent to high level without dropping too low;

    Persona 4: Best atmosphere, best character camaraderie and interactions;

    Persona 3: Best overarching story conclusion which has the most emotional end. Also, by far the coolest usage of Persona evokers (Yukari first cut-scene with the gun is so cool).

    Interested to hear other opinions of everyone else who has played all 3 games

    I lucked into a Siegfried with crit build and I see why people were b****ing that physical invalidates this game lol

    on the Monad Dungeon in late october, the 2nd miniboss took me like 10-15 mins and 5+ homunculus. the third and last one took me under 5 minutes

    the difference is the former repels physical and the latter doesnt

    I generally describe P5/R as the best experience you can get playing a persona game. And that will probably be eclipsed by P6. Once that happens, I dunno how that game will be perceived

    I finished P4G almost a decade ago so I dont remember much, but I always felt like the color and OST for that game just hit different. And then I felt like P3 had the best story and the tone of it was so standout with how increasingly cartoonish & light the series became after

    The problem with magic personas is that you actually gotta put in work with their build, and they still may not end up half as optimal as that guy. Thereā€™s very few plug and play magic personas, at least up until the high 50s

    Thereā€™s a few really good ones tho no doubt

  • It doesnā€™t help that at the end, the most broken personas are also physical lol

    Hassou Tobi is always GG in every persona

    Enjoy

    I just played it a few months ago for my first time (never played the vanilla OG) and it still holds up

  • P3 around September-Octoberish goes from feeling like thereā€™s a lot of game left to this s*** may end any moment very quickly lmao

    I think I may have managed SLs even worse in portable, primarily due to having to work so much, so Iā€™ll still be able to grind those as long as I care to

    Just beat P4G. Youā€™ll have an amazing time

  • Feel like it's always such a landmark moment when you can get to fusing Alice and get Die for Me

  • On 12/07 and I have a feeling this will once again be a mind numbing crawl to get through the last couple months
